Petition - DVLA communications to include a reminder to drivers to check for Highway Code updates https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/642376

68 horses were killed and 125 injured on UK roads in 2022 despite changes to the Highway Code (British Horse Society data). There were also 85 pedal cyclists fatalities that year (Department for Transport data). I believe that the DVLA should routinely remind all drivers to read the latest Highway Code, for example on 'vehicle tax' demands.
I know that many of us have had incidents sometimes with very serious consequences when riding, leading or driving horses on the roads.
A YouGov survey in January 2023 indicated that only 30% of drivers could correctly identify current rules for overtaking cyclists so all groups of vulnerable road users are affected. Hopefully reminders will prompt at least some drivers to check the current rules.
Many thanks!

The latest Highway Code is at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code
(Edited to say that I realise that the DVLA is now the DVSA - Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency)
