I WAS SENT THIS LINK WHICH I URGE YOU ALL TO CLICK ON AND SIGN THE ONLINE PETITION;

WARNING - The video on the home page is VERY graffic which I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you DO NOT watch. I saw about 5secs which was way too much and made me cry.

Please, please sign the petition (click on the word petition on the home page) and pass the link on to everyone you know for them to do the same.

I should have also said that when you click the link the video will NOT start automatically. You have to click it to activate it which once again I strongly recommend thast you DON'T.
 
EWW! the photos on the page you link to were too much for me, let alone clicking on the video! couldn't find the link to the petition before I felt sick and had to click off the page - can you post a link that will go directly to the petition without seeing some of those photos?

I'm sorry but what was said in the OP of this thread alone has made me chicken out of actually going there. So will someone please tell me what it ia about? Thank you.
 
Its about skinning animals alive in China, and there is a photo of something bloody and gross, and the still of the video clip was disturbing enough for me - maybe I'm just a wuss though seeing as other people have been on and signed

It is disgusting what happens over there - I've made myself watch many of these programmes/videos over the years so that I have the almost first-hand information as to what goes on. It is grim, to say the least.

I have also signed many petitions against this horrific practice; some of these I signed 20 or 30 years ago ..... nothing ever happens though and the practices still continue

I see this "charity" works with PETA to an extent and as much as I would like to sign, I can't. I won't have anything to do with PETA, sorry.

There are some really sick people in the world and this sort of disgusting behaviour needs to be stopped. I agree that petitions do not always have an effect but it only takes a few mins to sign and doesn't cost a penny to do so the more who sign the better.
 
Sorry, I'm with Tia on this one - I won't sign any petition that is connected with PETA. I think this one is particularly pointless. The government of a country with a human rights record as bad as China are highly unlikely to pay any attention to a petition concerning the treatment of these animals.
 
I still think the we should just boycott the Olympics. I don't think we should send anyone there especially not our horse competitors! They are a disgusting nation, their animal and human rights are non existent!
 
If people don't want to sign then don't.
I have no idea whether the petition will make any difference at all but I would most definately rather take two minutes of my time signing for even the slightest feeling that I have done something that may help as opposed to ignoring the matter.
 
What is wrong with PETA?

I have a monthly direct debit set up for donation, Im not aware of anything bad.

Can someone please enlighten me on this one?

because they are bonkers and are far too fanatical/extremist for most peoples taste
 
Well there are a number of reasons, however their funding of terrorist organisations is probably my biggest gripe. Oh and perhaps the fact that they kill approximately 90% of all animals they "rescue".
 
I wrote a personal letter to the Chinese Embassy some months ago and didn't even get an acknowlegement.
I think the Chinese feel they are above the rest of the world when it comes to running their own country and are unlikley to take much notice of us, never mind any petition.
I am not really in favour of boycotting the Olympics because sport should be out of politics, but somehow we have to let their government understand how such practices belittle their country to the rest of the world' people.
I find it so sad that a country so advanced in so many ways is so backward in others.

I would be greatful if you could PM with examples of these points. I may re-consider my donations to them.

I dont want to highjack the OP thread but I have signed the petition.
 
There are many ways to find out about PeTA. Try a Google search; "peta organisation unethical" or similar, then you can read and make up your own mind about the PeTA organisation.

I don't know anything about peta either - hopefully someone will enlighten us?
 
I am about to sign it but i actually think every1 should watch it too many of us turn a blind eye i know were all animal lovers and want to help. But if we were all to see the true extent of what actually dose go on maybe we will all be that much more aware and be able to make a difference!!!!!!!!
