petition to introduce a compulsory section in the driving test/theory

maybe a compulsory test for horse riders on how to show courtesy to other road users may be just as important .
I say this as a horse rider and driver myself.
 
I am a carriage driver and my carriage is the same width as any vehicle,for some reason many road users are clueless allowing me no room and overtaking in ridiculous situations.

I think this petition is a good idea i am suprised that many people havent signed it.
 
A good idea but I wonder if it would improve things? People learn how to drive, however, some people seem to lose all common sense when they pass and unfortunately it normally takes something to shock someone before they pay attention.
 
I don't see the point. Those who speed part horses already know that they should not. They choose to do so and no training or testing will change that. You cannot address behavioral problems with training.
 
Although it would never happen - I think everyone should be made to drive towing a horse trailer and a lorry etc. as well so they can appreciate that you cant brake that fast etc. The amount of people we have overtake us on double white lines (where we have to brake hard if a cars coming the other way to let them back in) is a joke.
