So, let Bracken out for a wee first thing this morning and found a whole SOCK in a pile of horse-poo mixture/vomit. My sock, to be precise.

Bloody dog is lucky he didn't die, stealing things from the washing basket..! Basket is now ABOVE the table not under it!

What things have your dogs eaten?!

Xx

Eek! Over the years in different practices I have seen, socks, chocolate, rat poison, children's soft toys, grapes, babies dummies and nappies, wine corkscrew, sewing needles, sticks, stone, bones and balls cone out of dogs!

He's never been one for clothes but Sam stoled one of my good tops and it had lots of diamontes around the neck and he pinged them all off with his teeth - took ages to pick them up.

Do toys count? We've gone through SOOOOO many of those. Honking pheasants are fun but don't last minutes.

URM, my oldie used to take plates off the counter and eat the scraps. How she managed without us hearing her, considering floor was tiles!

Then there was the night my mum put dinner on for 7 adults, went to shop for something, we're all in living room and while dinner was COOKING, dog had gone up and helped herself to the inside of the pan. Dog was incredibly lucky not to burn herself, and we learned the valuable lesson of keeping an eye on the kitchen!

My sisters lab has eaten countless socks over the years - have always come out of their own accord with no bad effects luckily.

After yet another visit to the vets with her for eating something the vet told my sister not to worry as the chocolate lab before them had a mobile phone removed - they only knew it had been eaten when it started ringing:eek::eek::D:D:D

Never forget that Labradors are just a life support system for a stomach..........:D:D:D

LOL omg about the mobile phone!!!!

Feel a bit better now :P but clearly can't trust the bugger to leave things be! Xx

My pup pooped out a sock the day after we'd got her. She ate it while still at the breeder and they kindly paid my vets bill as I'd taken her in during the night as she wouldn't stop vomiting! Watch her like a hawk at all times tho as she grows, keeping things out of reach might be difficult seeing as she's a great dane :)

I still mourn my sky remote and brand new sunglasses my dane chewed :( luckily she never ate them, just chewed them and spat them out. You might need shelves about 6ft high up :p

My Boxer had to have an op on his leg when he was about a year old, he had a "lampshade" on to stop him chewing it, but somehow (and this all happened whilst we were at home) he managed to get the lampshade off, then chew the vetrap, dressing and gauze etc off of his leg and ate the lot, he also took a couple of the stitches out, so on a mad dash to the vets (ringing ahead) he kindly puked the whole lot up in the back of my car whilst I had to sit holding a tea towel wrapped round the bleeding leg, my car stunk for months :( :p

My old Bernese used to eat socks all the time. They came out one end or the other generally with no issue.
Except once when we went on holiday kennels thought he was dying wouldn't eat for 2days so off to vets tablets etc then threw up the sock the kennel owner was so concerned she cooked and hand fed him chicken breast and steak every 4hours until we got back. When we were told we had to laugh as he did it so often with never an issue!!
Getting a lab pup in 7weeks so hope that doesn't eat a mobile!

Toaster, kettle, washing machine (literally chewd the front pannel off it..) chairs, tv remotes, dvds, two sofas, 6 or 7 soft dog beds, Bryony, wall paper, cupboard doors, my pictures of Starla :(
a cheese grator (lucky escape) and tge kitchen floor lino.
All Tyson before we discovered the joys of cages.

Two plastic cat dishes, a Fly Agaric toadstool, a net basket full of bird nuts (whole, that required an op to remove), next doors rabbit, a leather belt, my good christmas shoes, a whole bag of potatoes washed down with a box of crunchy nut cornflakes, the flex to the fridge, I could go on. Thankfully the new pups dont seem to be able to get the doors to the kitchen cupboards open, but they do seem to have developed at taste for dog beds!

My lab used to have a penchant for plastic... She seems to have given that up, but I'm careful.
She it's large pine cones if I don't stop her, which invariably end up thrown up on my bedroom carpet 36 hrs later - usually at 2o'clock in the morning.
But her absolute favourite is Johnsons face wipes... She's a bugger and has removed them from drawers tops etc. She tends to pass these through whole. She's got her paws on them numerous times, although hasn't for a while as I'm super ruler careful. She once ate about 8 in a sitting... Had a very nervous few days, but she was fine
