Just had a phone call from the people who have my pony molly on loan saying that shes went down and its not looking good. Vets on the way and she was basically calling to ask for my permission to put her to sleep as she looking very poorly. Shes 200 miles away and its killing me that I cant be there. My poor wee princess. :(

It's horrendous news, but they obviously love her and are doing the right thing by her. Take some comfort in knowing you found the right people for her, whatever the outcome x

totally agree with this, at least they had the decency to phone you (after phoning vet). i hope it's not a bad outcome for the pony. fingers crossed.

Really sorry to hear this :( personally i would wait for vet and ask to speak to him before giving my permission.

Definitely, and possibly a second opinion, depending on circumstances. God, how cynical have I become with all the horror stories I have heard about loan ponies!! I really hope it isn't as bad as they think and that Molly will be ok xx

thinking of you. I had THAT call 2 years ago to say my mare had dropped dead at 18 years of age. very sudden still had grass in her mouth. Take comfort that your loaners sound like they care for her and will make th =e right decision for her.
Still hurts like hell tho . So sorry x

goodness, I'm so sorry.

there's a clause in my share agreement that authorises the sharer to permit the vet to PTS but it's something one never wants to consider might actually happen.

I'm so so sorry. xxxx

Im so so sorry to hear this. I cant bear the thought....im sure though that your loaners have done everything they possibly can and more... i certainly wouldnt ring my loan horses owner and ask something like that until i had tried everything i possibly could. Rest assured that your princess is with someone that loves her. Id probably also drive out and be there. Hope its not as bad as it sounds :(
