Just been laughing my head off!:D! Radio 2 phone in on Jeremy Vine about the John Lewis Christmas advert - a deerhound in the SNOW in a kennel!!:D:D

According to most callers this is a crime of the highest order and it gives the message that dogs should be kept outside. Dogs apparently aren't able to cope with cold weather, if you keep your dog outside its because you don't care about your dog as they are pack animals that need to be with you 24/7, its only people like farmers, hunts and shooting people who keep their dogs outside as they don't care about them, people who keep dogs in kennels should be prosecuted for welfare issues - yes seriously:rolleyes:- blah blah blah......One caller was cancelling his John Lewis account because of it!!:D

Anyway consider yourselves told - I have told Max he is not allowed to sit in the garden anymore:D - Sweep is trying to put together a poster campaign but its so chuffing cold INSIDE we are going out to warm up:eek::eek::eek::D

LMAO, I will now tell my fluffy triple coated akita she has to suffer the wrath off the heat she cannot bear and make her understand this neither is a welfare issues:rolleyes:

And the rescues? suppose it's our fault we cannot keep them all indoors and not the cruel fecks that made them homesless in the first place:rolleyes:

Henry can't cope with cold weather. It's so hard for him to swim at his maximum speed when he has to dodge little icebergs...;)

PMSL - well trust me if I had a kennel, Pads would have been banished to it last night after his poo snacking  short coat or not :D

Apparently they are having to film a new end to the ad due to the volume of complaints! Same Deerhound will be roasting it's bits off infront of a John Lewis fire on a luxury John Lewis rug with it's own John Lewis Xmas dinner no doubt

Glad I'm not listening!

Again, my breed is double coated and we have always kept our dogs outside, they haven't died of it yet...and it gets much, much colder in the country where they originated!!!

My dogs seem to be fully in support of this campaign   and Dash likes the sound of a triple Akita coat so much he is planning to mug Cayla's furball for it ;)

I did listen to some of this and some of the arguments were utter b*llocks, I mean, its only an advert ffs and there are MUCH worse things you can do to a dog - like feed it until it wobbles and never take it out of your centrally heated house in case it gets it's toenails scratched  If only people would learn to treat dogs like dogs not mini people and to realise that an Italian Greyhound has totally different needs to a Husky

There are times, plenty of them, that I would yearn to be one of my lot "sun-bathing" under their heat lamps..as we trudge `round tending to their every bloody need:D

I did think to myself 'aawww, poor dog!' when I saw the advert. Although it was directed at the fact the kennel was s*** and looked like it was about to collapse on the dog's head, rather than the fact the dog was outside

I heard a bit of this in the car, one stupid woman was saying dogs living outside were a welfare issue. Although my 2 do live inside at night (Evie is in a kennel and run whilst I am at work) I previously have kept several GSDs outside, they never came to any harm, and often could be seen curled up in snow or frost rather than go in their nice warm kennel.

Oh good lord, if my dogs were forced to suffer living outside...they'd have RSPCA, SSPCA, ILPH and any type of animal sanctuary they could bark to in order to get back to the home comforts of hogging my bed for lounging on my knee in front of a toasty fire. However, mine are spoilt wee doglets....and besides, they make good toe warmers under the kitchen table as I type this! LOL

I listenede to that what a load of tosh. I am forced to listen to radio 2 at work and the call in's annoy me. Some people have nothing better to do than complain. I liked the man that claimed no farmer cared at all about their animals, I'd like for them to work the hours farmers do for the money they get. Hate sweeping generalisations

Oh dear... My dog is left outside to fend for herself at night back home. There are old stables that I leave the door open on but I have no idea if she sleeps in there, she's up before me! She's not died yet...neither have my grandparents dogs....
