I can see a few posts on the Dog thread, but most are old now.

I've been recommended to try the red light therapy on my mare with ongoing muscle issues (PSSM) especially as she seems to have done 'something' to her pectoral muscle playing in the field. The price wasn't mentioned and I've just looked on Amazon and gulped.

Are they any good? Does anyone use any other red light therapy that is maybe more within my budget?

I have one, I bought it for my horse who had issues with locking stifles, and I do think it helped.

I also use it on myself regularly and it does make a difference.

I have a Photizo Vetcare for the Labs. We've had mixed results, successful on an arthritic shoulder and hips, but not so much on arthritic feet. I use it regularly along our elderly Labs spine and if I miss a day or two he definitely loses his middle wiggle so it seems to help keep him supple. I have been using it on my own frozen shoulder and I think it has helped. Hubby also uses it on his ankle following a particularly bad break. I paid £279 for mine.

I hired one of these machines and used it on a splint - I did think it helped. Ailsa Vines (the physio) hires them out for £20 a week, may be worth a try to see if you think it helps.

Definitely works, I've used it twice on kicked legs and seen the difference whether I used it one day or not. It's also clinical trials, if I remember right.

I'm lucky, I bought the diodes off Ebay and my OH made me a machine with them.

Glad to see these posts, as my yard has one and I've just started using on my horse with stifle issues. It's not been long but does seem to be helping, so happy to see others who have used with success.

Thanks all - I'm nowhere near Alisa but I might drop her a line to see if she knows anyone who will hire one so I can have a go. Otherwise that's my Xmas present sorted!!
