I think I've finally figured out how to upload photos on here so figured it was time for a very late puppy update.

My girl is 13 months now and finally grown up into a more managable creature!
Shes a finnish lapphund for those who haven't seen my pics before...and im completely sold on the breed and cannot imagine having anything else now.

She's definately the cleverest dog I've had the pleasure of owning, though not quite as eager to please as a lab!
Had a fun time with some seperation anxiety but that seems to have come good over the last 3 to 4 months.
Its been a long year and at various stages did swear I would never have a puppy again but in around the year mark its gotten to the stage I finally have a dog whose a pleasure to be around :)

The cat was so unimpressed by the entire situation. That pic pretty sums up my animals in a snapshot!

She is a beauty 👌🏼. The first picture says so much about the difference between dogs and cats - the look on your cat's face made me laugh.

I've seen the difference between dogs and cats summed up as, "Nobody would ever think it was a good idea to breed a cat the size of a Great Dane."

I'm very impressed by your dog's ability to walk on water in the second pic, aru!

She copes really well with the heat. Better then me if im being honest. She was born here so its her normal.
I obviously dont walk her in the middle of the day in summer in australia(anything above 30 is to much for me let alone the woof and the pavement and sand is on fire) but she loves to sunbake and I usually have restrict her to indoors around midday if I'm home cos shes happy to still do laps of the garden while flinging herself in and out of the kiddie pool full of water for maximum mess and chaos.
If I'm working shes usually at my friends doggy daycare though and thats in aircon(yes I am that person who sends the dog to daycare😂) but I also like having an intact garden to come home to...she loves to dig and choses it over every toy going.

The coats on the Lappies in Australia are generally half the size of the ones in Finland though. They have adapted pretty well and drop the undercoat in a massive shed at the start of summer. Has proven to be otherwise a pretty low maintenance coat which is nice.

Wow, what a beautiful doggy! I'm off to have a google now about the breed :)

I've also heard that sometimes the double coat can be useful in the heat as it keeps them cool as well as hot but not sure how true that actually is! The only evidence I have is that there are a lot of street dogs in Thailand with as much hair as her and if they were all dying off from the heat then the wouldn't be breeding so maybe there is some truth to it! :D

I was right! Prettier as an adult than as a puppy, that breed. She’s fabulous, but then I’m a sucker for spitzy types.

Such a difference in temperature to here: my OH was amazed at the yard dog, mal x gsd, lying on the ice yesterday-by choice!
