This may be a weird post, but has anyone else received a random text message from a guy asking if they would be interested in doing some paid modelling work wearing jodpurs and boots etc?
My friend who received the text was a little concerned and rang the number because she wanted to know how he had her number. This guy says he is a freelance photographer working for a magazine looking for horsey girls to model for him. He says he got her name and number from an advert she had for a horse that she had for sale on the Horsemart website.
Anyone else know anything about this???!!

Ooooh dear. Obviously it is pervy in the extreme but it really doesn't surprise me.

I have been looking for a horse to share recently, so going through a lot of adverts online and some of the adverts you see from kids are terrifying. They give their names, where they have riding lessons, how old they are, their private email address and mobile numbers...its like paedophile paradise, it really is.

Especially on some forums that attract a lot of younger users, very young members give tons and tons of information about themselves, post pictures of their ponies and talk about the shows they are going to, so they are a piece of cake to find, and talk about how they have to go up to the yard on thier own in the dark, etc. Basically, many of them advertise their personal details and daily movements very explicitly and it makes me cringe for their safety.

I had an email ages ago warning kids about giving out information....it went something like a man was chatting to a girlonline for about a week pretending to be another girl her age...he then turned up at her house. He was a policeman....he sat her parents down and reeled off info like her name, address, mobile number, what school she went to, her teachers name, her pets, that she was a cheerleader, her friends names etc etc etc....all info he'd gleened from her and used to find her. Very scary stuff...

My friend has sold quite a few youngsters over the last couple of years through Horsemart and never had any 'funny' text messages before yesterday. Slightly worrying is that is was me that was in the picture of the horse that was for sale and I'm a short skinny 40yr old so not exactly model material!!!!!

I had funny PM's on herer ages ago from a bloke who wanted to take photos of a girl on a black horse ......... Mmmmm?

oh dodgy dodgy dodgy avoid like the plague, there are some really sick people out there. I'm pretty sure if a mag wanted models then they would contact them direct and usually have agencies to use. tell the police and hand over his number for them to investigate.

Yep we had that text about 2 months ago! Weird! Did not reply to it!!!!

I do advertise in HH though so guess any weirdo could text about anything!!!!
