Photos from today's Barbury fun ride...

somethingorother - stalk away! :D LOL :p If I bought any, it would be that one...or the landing one. I just think I look massive on her for some reason!?! Compared to the ones at the ODE a week ago, I look like I've put on two stone! LOL. Might think about it once I get a bit more dosh...:D

apercrumbie - thank you, it was an awesome day :D I hope the owner of the Thelwell pony checks online for her pic....it's so cool, you'd have to buy it wouldnt you! :D

Lovely photos :)

Glad you had a nice time, is an amazing ride (I did it last year). we didnt get photographers last year though :( :(

WOW! A fun ride photographer who understands timing, they are very nice pictures.

P.s Yes I know there are any number of excellent photographers attending fun rides, just not at the rides I have been to.

I agree with somethingorother with the photo choice.

That second jump is huge :eek::eek::eek: Go you and Ellie :D:D
That Thelwell one is great. The pony looks a bit like Horrid :p I hope he doesn't jump like that though ;):D:D

Sprout - I love that one too! Argh, I'd decided not to buy any of them cause I'm a bit skint, but you guys are making me think I ought to!:D:D

NeilM - What sets these apart then - is it the timing of how they've caught the horse jumping - ie. take off, mid air and landing? I have looked through a lot of them and there dont seem to be many bad ones, so fair play to the photographers - I havent seen them around here before either!

Laura - thankies :D It was a bit massive....I'm not sure I'd have had the guts to do it if I'd actually gone to look at it first, lol! But Ellie didnt seem to mind too much, bless her :D

Exactly what you've described. I take photos just for the pleasure of it, and to get the kind of shots this photographer has taken requires an understanding of the jumping sequence. Bear in mind that you don't get the picture the instant you release the shutter, but a fraction after that, so you need to 'push the button' just before the moment of take off. After that, with continuous release you can get a nice sequence, but you still need to know what you are doing, otherwise you end up with a sequence of mistimed pictures.

The Thelwell Pony shot says it all really.

Random off topic Q.....but how much is it to hire the XC at Abbotswood [if they hire it?]?

Thinking of going Rabson this sat with a friend, but just comparing prices and courses :)

Love the photos! You both look like you're having a lot of fun (and that Thelwell pic is priceless :D).

I love that fun ride. Haven't done it for years, but it was one of my favourites when I was a teenager all those moons ago!!!

Ah thankies!

I've got Rabson booked for this weekendschooling, first time there :D

I wanna go to the HT at Abbotswood the day after Fox.Show. Are you going to either? :D

Aiming to do the HT for sure! Probably wont do Foxham...Ellie's done a lot of jumping recently, and I dont want to 'lose' her...doing a HT straight after showjumping the day before might be a bit much! She's having a couple of weeks off at the mo :)

Aaah good luck :D I'm doing foxham, hoping to do HT possibly after if I can too! Then Badminton ride the weekend after hopefully.
