I know it's not dont to look nice but doesn it look awful on a grey or a light coloured horse? My bay is done and the white looks fine but I'm guessing my dun will have to be done like a grey?

I think they actually go bald rather than lighter? Depending on the colour of your dun, you could have it done normally and still be able to see it.

Thanks. Can you choose where you want it? Have seen some horses with it on the shoulder but I would prefer under the saddle?

*have just sent them an email asking how soon they can get here!*

a bald mark has to be on the shoulder because they have to leave the irons on longer to kill the hair root. You can have the dun marked on the shoulder or back. I prefer the shoulder because it is visible all the time, even when being ridden and the recovery time is slightly shorter. In addition if for some reason your horse did have a problem with the mark or a reaction to it, under the saddle may cause problems..whereas on the shoulder would not, although i have never expereinced a horse that has had any problems. I am sure there are people who would queue up to tell you horror stories

its usually done under the saddle area, although my mare has hers on shoulder and my gelding has his on quarters (was done in Denmark). I don't think it looks bad at all.

Fingers crossed I can get the dun done on her back then! Not too worried about the greys showing as shes just a companion really.
