Hello

Please could someone confirm what is correct turnout for a youngstock hunter class?
( horse and handler)
Photos would be great!!

Have recently bought a 2 yr old cob x tb so want to get him out and about a bit this summer to take in the sights and sounds. Not really done any showing before so not familiar with the etiquette etc- although our adventures will be at local level only.

any advice gratefully received :-)

This is me with a 2yo a few years back.
It was a local show - and was a mixed hunter / sporthorse class - mine fell more into the sporthorse catagory but the general turnout is the same.

Sorry, I'm a bit hidden in the photo but it should give you the general idea.

Horse - plaited and pulled tail, ideally tail just below hock is correct (but I prefer them longer!). Plain bridle and bit.

Handler - Hacking jacket, shirt (ideally not white, off white/cream better), tie, some form of hat (I used a navy beagler but it is fine just to wear a regular riding hat or even a smart non riding hat). Boots/shoes that are smart but suitable for running in (I wore brown joddies). Trousers - usually cream/light coloured, but if you have a white/grey consider dark to contrast to your horse. Gloves.
