My friends mare has a white front leg and a white back leg, she is 32yrs old and has had sunburn on her nose before. This year for the first time her legs especially her front one are swollen + sore+++. She is very lame, vet is coming out tomorrow to see her but obviously we've got to prevent this from happening again. She is a nightmare to put cream on + stable and all the fields we have are full of buttercups!! Has anyone used equilibriums sun protect chaps or has anyone got any experience of photosensitivity on legs? xxxxx

My old Tb used to get it really bad, i tried lots of creams and skin gauards, he used to be quite sore with it and it was painfull for him to walk, somtimes.
The only thing that worked was camrosa, used to put it on twice a day then gradually stopped using it as the sores got better, touch wood, it hasnt come back, that was three years ago.
Worth giving it a go but please read and follow instructions.

You can now buy a weed killer called 'bannish' that kills buttercups, theyre bad news
