I feel I need to have someone out to look at my horse, hes arthritic and has conformation issues, but dont know who would be best for picking up any problems not immediately apparent ?
Any thoughts, thanks

If your horse has a pre-existing condition why not ask your regular vet for their advice on who would be best to see your horse - if you have one, if not then maybe start with osteopath and get the skeleton right then move onto muscles after? :)

Have had Gavin S out previously but he never seemed to actually do anything !
Had a physio out to another horse once but not impressed.
I will try another osteo I think. Thanks for replies

A physio is the higher qualified out of the three, I have used all three in the past and had best results with a physio I was referred by my vet, she gave me stretches and exersizes to do which I think really helped to strengthen all of his muscles after a bout of lameness issues, and due to compensating on other limbs made him very sore and tight through his back and shoulders.

Just a thought....but I would tend to think that it would be better to get the muscles sorted first, then the skeleton.

If there are tight muscles/ligaments etc than surely it is better to sort these out first, as these are what actually hold the skeleton together? If the muscles are tight they will be pulling the skeleton out of place.

Personally I have only ever had results from an osteo.
After his first visit, my horse actually moved physically differently. He had a swing to his quarters and for the first time a true four beat walk.

it really depends on what is wrong with the horse, and the best person to ask is your vet - don't forget anyone treating your horse without the vet's permission is breaking the law anyway... ;)

most vets nowadays are happy to recommend 'alternative' therapists. x

We have a osteo and a physio to our yard.

Treat the skeletal then muscles. but I would go through the vet route first.
