Physio's - vet consent.

In order to have a physio out, do you need your vets consent?

Yes. Ring them and ask if its Ok. The Physio's should tell you they can;t come out without Vets consent.

My physio wont come ut without vets consent but I don't know if that is the case for all of them (although I think it might be). My vet knows me though so all I do is give him a quick phone to explain why I want the physio out and he OK's it.

Mine says so but i never got vets consent, although i gave my yards vets name bu didnt even have pony reg. with them so no!

I'm not sure it's actually their consent you need as they can't actually stop you having the physio etc, but you do have to advise them the physio is coming

Before my physio came out the first time she asked for my vet's details and then phoned them to check they were OK with her coming out. She phones them before she comes out now to check that there are no issues that she should know about. My vets are perfectly happy about it.

from the physio or any specialists it is required by law that vet consent is gained prior to any work being undertaken
