Piccy of one foal

i've just checked out of the window to see you're not there!! how did you know???

(grumps the horses name but does sum me up a bit too!! try not to be but cant help it!!)

I do team penning with a couple of them but I'm not really into competing anymore. I adore riding my QH's.

Here's a couple of them.

Bet you wish you'd never asked - thankfully these are the only ones I have photos uploaded of.

He looks lovely, such a shame that he was taken from his mummy too soon but looks like he's in great hands now. Good luck with him x

Scabbymare! Your village called, they're missing their idiot!

If you live in Stoke then we can't live that far away from each other, in the grand scheme of things.

I used to live in Longton but moved slightly further afield 8 years ago. I describe Stoke as a Godforsaken place, but I'm only teasing.

Thank you GinGin, and everyone else for your kind words.

They will all look better soon - they have had a fairly major trauma but we'll see to it that they are well cared for.

not at all, love seeing pics of everyones horses, love the qh's they look fab, i always wanted to gallop one, sounds a bit odd but i used to ride racehorses and quarter horses are supposed to be quicker so i'd love to have a go on one. I'll just have to keep the dream!! haha!!!
wink.gif

they are all lovely, you're so lucky to have the place you do to keep them, i'll keep my fingers crossed for the lottery win, might have somewhere like that then!!

They really are terrific little horses....and yes they are VERY fast; fastest horses in the world over a quarter mile. Keep your dreams alive.

Is one of the foals you described as sad in one of your previous posts. Well if they are all loved as much as your daughter obviously loves her I don't think they will be sad for much longer.

What a lovely post.

What a lovely thing to say - thank you so much

. Yes this is one of the sad little foals. You have seen exactly what I saw in my daughter's eyes too - love.

They have honestly brightened up no-end today. I am so happy to see this. They finally managed to figure out what feed is, and they are now tucking into it happily. I've been sitting in the bale feeder and just talking to them through the days and today I managed to finally groom most of them ....... and they really like it! So I am very happy that they seem to be happier than they previously appeared.

Now that is the colouring I'm hoping for from Asti's foal!

Have you got a snowflake appy? If not, please can you get one, a chestnut please.

Then you can show me the entire range of options that I may get from a chestnut mare x leopard spot appy (chestnut based)...

He looks very sweet and nice to know Meg is making up for a bad start for him.

PS - absolutely howled with laughter at GG's comment about the village missing their idiot, I'm still chuckling!!!

LOL! No sorry, I only have leopard-spotted ones and Meg has the blanket-spot one. I do know a number of snowflake ones though - they are all super-nice horses though so you won't go wrong.

I chuckled too - poor people, not everyone can be born with brains.

Sure with some TLC from your daughter he will forget his rough start and he couldnt have ended up somewhere better then with you.

Best of luck to your daughter with him- doesnt that grin on her face say it all?

Thank you all for your lovely comments. This little foal is so lovely though; he is quiet and really enjoyed coming out of the field tonight. He really does love human company and I hope that he helps the others. They all have bumps and scratches on them but I know they'll look wonderful in no time at all.

Hi Tia,

So pleased to hear that the babies are coming out of their shells day by day now, a pretty traumatic time for them by all accounts. They will figure out that they landed on their feet soon enough

I love little Cruise, great name, did Megan choose that one? She is growing isn't she? I had to look twice at the photo, Evie was wearing a tee shirt that style and colour and black shorts tonight too, and her feet are bigger than mine and she's taller than me

At 12!

I wish Evie was the same as Megan with horses, but she's not. She loves her pony and rides 3 or 4 times a week with me, never by herself, but she isn't interested in the same way that Megan is, and it makes me so sad. I never say anything, I can't live her life for her, but as a child I would have killed to live the way we do now, ah well, as long as she's happy.

That photo of Ezzy and Golden was a teaser! I can't see much of little Breeze at all
crazy.gif

Off topic.......I now know why they call it Fall! I swear every leaf from the seven walnut trees around the house has come off this week, it's been so windy lately that it has looked like it's been raining leaves!

Not usually a fan of appys, but what a sweetheart!
He looks like he will be a stunner as he grows
smile.gif

Phantom was taken from his mummy too early, an although he had a brutish owner and was a bit of a biter and man hater, he has been a delight with us (have had him from yearling) and his bond with my daughter is incredible.
Looks like Megan and hers will be the same
smile.gif

oh, he's lovely, i really like horses with interesting markings. (says she, who's just bought a mare with no white on her at all.) very very sweet. wtf is it with weaning them at 3 months though... jeezus, that's barbaric imho. and then the stress of travelling... i bet the poor little thing thinks he's in heaven now at your place.

He's a real wee sweetie. Your daughter looks so pleased with him! I think it's fantastic she's so commited to them as so many children easily lose interest.

I look forward to seeing their progress together and lots of pictures!
smile.gif

I am really pleased that the foals are starting to cheer up a bit. Your daughter is lovely and I suspect she will do a really sterling job raising that little 'un. Best of luck to all of you, and fingers crossed for happy successful foals in the future !
