Following on from the 'amusing' post earlier I'm going to give you all the chance to pick your own event name for this season
laugh.gif
Then I think we should have a vote and pick the best one. That rider then gets to keep their name for the year
smirk.gif

So I shall start.... if we are going on school nicknames then mine would be Jelly
blush.gif
. The fact that I have squidgy bits and am quite often to be found wobbling round the saddle it is quite appropriate. Highly unflattering of course but then it can't be worse than Wiggy, Piggy or Gubby can it?
wink.gif
It also rhymes with Belly, Telly, and Welly - all things I am the proud owner of

Over to you!

My boarding school nickname was Dormouse for my uncanny ability to fall asleep any time, any place, including in the lacrosse goal and once memorably, whilst doing a chemistry practical that involved titration (burette ran dry, we were WAAAY past the pale pink stage and into the realms of shocking).

Still I think I got off lightly, my best mate got saddled (arf arf) with the name Heffypoo and someone else in my year was known as Lame Ho because her name was quite similar..

All I can say is thank god none of us event!!!

Mine'd be Beastie (uni riding club nickaname) or Downer (my uni squash club nickname based on my drinking ability
blush.gif
). Not sured I'd particularly want either of those, although everyone on the yard knows me as Beastie anyway and I've got a hoodie with it on the back!

Hmmmm. I was Mole at my (non-public!) school. And uni.

Many of my friends never actually got to know my real first name. I lived with it for 20 years; I guess I could wear it again....

oh dear. I was 'Fred' as a toddler (because next door's goldfish was called Fred and i liked him), and then got landed with "Bert" as a child, which has stuck. most of my family call me this, and it doesn't even register any more. one aunt calls me WigglyWorm because i was/am such a fidget. she likes to do this at the top of her voice across shops. nice. it was quite cute when i was about 6.
i had loads of nicknames at school, can't remember most of them., some were variations on my unpronounceable surname, so not exactly original, e.g. Whizzy.

Jules aka "the Bean"
smile.gif
haha

I walked up to a bloke in a pub when I was very young (yes I started pubbing it at an early age!) and was convinced he was mr bean and it's stuck ever since...

Well I'm afraid mine would have to be Psycho - which was my nickname at school (all connected with my maiden name).

I hasten to add that I'm not .... well most of the time anyway!

Oh my goodness, OH went out with one called Psycho when we had our 4yr trial separation.

You never told me that, but all credit to you for lasting 6 months with him.

Sorry, back to the OP now. Mine would have to be Moppy, the shortened version of Mophead.

Chunky is a recent one but Moppy is longstanding and the alliteration works better.
cool.gif

Mine was Pogo.

I'm neither bouncy or thin any more!!!

Haven't been called that for years now - probably the above is the reason why!!

Ah, alliteration is the word I was trying to think of a couple of weeks ago (you know when you can't think of the right word and you know it will come to you when you no longer need it or care!). Thanks Baydale!
smirk.gif

Mine would probably be Grumpy Curran!
blush.gif

Well my nickname at highschool (public and state) was 'Shagwell' (thank you Austin Powers).
But I don't think I would be allowed to event under that name
wink.gif

How ever I do think I am in running for the prize mentioned by the OP!!

At UNI and in NZ I go by Flick.

ha ha....very light hearted! Mine would be Worzel......as in Gummage!! My dad named me when i was younger as i was always covered in hay and straw from the horses, in my hair everywhere!!

The worst thing is, he still calls it me now......even just recently at a conference in front of a client...............oooooooooooooops dad!!!

I was known as Snowy in my youth!!!!!!! In fact when I was 5 I was at an airport about to go on holiday. We were checking in, and I told the person at the desk I was called Snowy, and my passport was wrong. They very nearly didn't let me on the plane!!!!!!!!!! God only knows why I wanted to be called Snowy???? I did grow out of it by the time I was 7, but the name kinda stuck!

It has been suggested I use the name 'profiterole', cracking memories of the BE ball and NYE come to mind with that!

At school its 'Thommy' reference to surname so not very exciting!

My first name which everyone knows me by is actually a nickname. It's on my business cards and everything, and most people don't know my 'real' name. The only person who doesn't use my nickname is my mum! I have friends who at uni watched me fill out some form or other and asked me why I was doing it for someone else and who was she....oh dear.

So does that make me up there with eventing royalty then?! I event under my nickname.
