You must be local to me ?, that was on my fb page. I think it is petty, you aren't likely to step in it unlike dog poo as you can't really miss it. It is part of country side living and as one person answered- if you don't like it, move to the city.... Although my horse left a mighty fine dollop close to the town centre which cars were swerving round last time I rode out ?
Hi I’m in Clowne where abouts are you. The path they mention is the branch line. Not really feasible to go back and pick it up if you’ve ridden a few miles on it as it’s not accessible by car.
Yes the comments were amusing but I got annoyed when certain people kept saying horses shouldn’t be on footpaths. It’s also a bridle way the signs with pictures of horses are a clue lol ??‍♀️

I tend to make MrT keep walking (he tries to stop and points his bum to the verge, bless him) so he's doing it in the line car tyres travel. It's gone in days then. Whereas on the verge it's going to sit around for months and months. I can't even begin to imagine caring that I got horse muck on my car tyres? To me, that's beyond weird. I aim for the stuff if I'm driving and have a little celebration if I can see I've squashed it in the rear view mirror. The motorbikes are already going slow enough round here not to worry about it... thanks to the potholes! ?

Last summer he did start to do quite a collection outside a neighbours house so I did toddle up with my wheelbarrow after and clean up a couple of times.

Is it true that race horses are trained to pee on command, so they can give a urine sample after a race to check for doping?

If so, then perhaps they can be trained to drop some "rose food" on command, too.

Haha ? I worked at a stud many years ago where they were trained to pee in a bucket but not poo in the wheelbarrow. I thought the latter would have saved me a lot more work.

I'm in Chesterfield ?, I don't know that bridle path - hopefully all the numpties will be back in the pub now and our bridleways and paths will be less busy with folk who would normally be either on the lash or at meadow hell at the weekends ?

Meadow hell is allowing in only 8000 people at a time, and no food court, I heard on the wireless... But marquees out on the car park for food and drinks...

I was once told a funny story by a friend. She was riding her mare down the main street of a busy touristy village on a hot sunny day and the mare stopped and did the longest and smelliest wee in the middle of the road, then said wee ran like a little river down the road with all the pedestrians that were crossing the road running to avoid it!
Or the other time we were riding across a river in France, when the horses all chose to poo, and we watched the poo floating downstream towards a group of canoeists ...
There are times when these horses set out to embarrass you right royally

As a teen I hacked my pony to my (very posh) boyfriend's house, so his sister could have a sit on and a cuddle. On arrival, pony did the biggest wee all over their lovely driveway as we stood at the front door.

An argument we get round here is that horse poo is slippery and a danger to cyclists and motorcyclists. I'm not sure I buy that having cycled over horse poo plenty and never slipped.

We did have a very long running popcorn post on a local FB group about horse poo on pavements and I do have some sympathy with non-horsey people about that. Horses shouldn't be on pavements full stop. However, this particular instance was complicated by the path being a shared foot / cycle path along a very busy road (made that much narrower by the creation of the cycle path) and whether horses should be allowed on that path. Technically they shouldn't but I understand why the riders did it. It kept everyone safe and I think there'd be even more uproar if they'd been on the road holding up the cars as it's enough of a traffic bottleneck as it is.

I hack on a private road and gravel track to get to another track and even though this road and track is covered in sheep poo and mud the two farmers who own it have both loudly ranted at me to get off and kick it to the verge 'because its horrible to drive over'. So I do. It keeps the peace (both farmers now smile and wave at me) AND its fine as I can remount from the embankments/walls/gates along the way. If I couldn't remount safely anywhere I have to say I'd refuse!

Scats is another name for animal faeces ?

But not all animals. I think rabbits also produce scats. Actually, they are very interesting. The first deposit is actually eaten directly from... yes... but when it goes through the system again, it is now off the menu.

With the amount of traffic around everywhere, it's flattened very quickly and disappears quick as well, it's a pity the lager cans empty fag packets dog poo bags car radio front crisp packets pop bottles beer bottles etc etc etc that get thrown into my horses field and surrounding area don't disappear as quickly.

I was riding through the City Center one Sunday morning, and someone was stupid to ask me what if he poo's and who would pick it up, I pointed to the pile of empty Lager cans fag ends litter etc on the floor next to a Bench, that had a Bin only about three feet away ffs, I said whoever picks up that lot, and the syringes and chewing gum stuck to the floor etc can pick up my horses shit as well, I pay my Tax's, if they can pick that lot up, they can manage a bit of minced up grass which is far less hazardous than that lot, pretty sure they regretted asking me.

People will want us to have a small fan attached to the rear of the saddle so the smell of the poo can be diverted when to horse goes. When I was a kid horses & carts still came around the streets, road sweepers, rag & bone men etc. I used to follow the cart with a bucket & shovel & collect the poo for my dads veg plot. He'd pay me 3d for a bucket full. This type of post comes along normally started by a townie who has moved 6to the quiet countryside. Do they not know that thje countryside if an outdoor factory with farm machinery going from early morning to late at night, specially when harvest is being got in. A bunch of bloody snowflakes!!
