My labradoodle is getting increasingly picky. I have always had to change dog food every time she runs out of a big bag as she'll usually eat it to begin with but by the end of the bag she's got bored of it. I feed her dry food twice daily. Is there a certain food which is particularly enticing to dogs that Im missing? Im fed up changing food and we're almost running out of options as once she's gone off it, she rarely eats it again. Ive tried muesli type but she hates it. Ive tried wetting her food, not wetting it, adding low salt gravy and meat juices etc. I cant stand the smell of canned dog food but will go down this route if she'll eat it, is this the only option or anyone got any other ideas please? Im worried she'll start losing weight at this rate as we're only half way through a bag and she just picks at her bowl all day.

She does clear up after my baby who is at the weaning stage (and baby-led so quite a lot falls on the floor) but its hardly much that she gets and although perfectly healthy, probably not ideal diet for a dog!

I give mine meat juices in her food and she will wolf down all of it, biscuits and meat (we cut up processed meat).
But if you just give her meat and biscuits without any meat juice or fat she will take all the meat out and leave the biscuits, which are Purina Hypoallergenic and not cheap.

I bet it’s the poodle in your doodle that’s picky..Ive had three st poodles in the last twenty years..all quite picky.
We briefly scald the kibble( 2 mins)( 150gms twice daily).
Monge is a good choice for us.
then I add a sprinkle of boiled rabbit…or chicken..also mozzarella cheese on occasion..poodle is a great weight( 22kg) stools are firm, coat super.
I never leave food down more than ten minutes.
Never leave the food down for the dog to graze at will..
I feed twice a day.
i f the dog refuses food,he may skip a meal, but he will always eat next meal..
We are 3O C outside..so appetites may be reduced,as we walk less.

All other breeds Ive had have been good eaters..my current small schnauzer would eat the food (and her bowl. LoL)we feed her separate from her poodle friend to stop her eating his food.

Another thing…kibble can soon go stale..especially feeding just one dog from a big sack..
we open a sack ,divide the food into polythene bags to last about 5 days each and reseal them. The foodbags are then kept in a big sealed plastic tub… remains fresh this way.

I don’t recommend feeding human food to dogs, but to get the dog going you could take your own veg and meat left overs, blend and mix into the scalded kibble to get her going.
