No point to this post really - just some images of Kali jumping at home, just because I'm so proud of the little reprobate.

I have to remind myself that he's not that long back into work after his navicular diagnosis . . . but I just burst with pride when I see how far he's come (and how well Z is doing with him).

Thanks for indulging me :).

Lovely pictures, and a beautiful horse, but from the title I was expecting to see a pet donkey free jumping!

Was not disappointed however to see your lovely horse instead.

Ha - sorry . . . The GreyDonkey is his nickname (although a friend of mine did ask me why we call him a donkey when he so clearly isn't one).

Lmao he's not a reprobate he's fab!

Oh yes he is a reprobate. Disgraced himself good and proper yesterday AND today.

Yesterday - A horsey friend/former colleague of mine has been keen to have a sit on Kali so came to see us yesterday. It was pouring with rain, Kal isn't keen on blokes and when S pushed him up into canter Kal decided gallop would be more fun and then dropped his shoulder (which he does at lightning speed) depositing S out the side door. S had neglected to check/tighten his girth so as he exited, the saddle rotated with him ending up under Kal's belly . . . cue Kal doing the wall of death around the school about three times, stirrups flapping as he tried to escape the monster attached to his tummy. When he finally stopped/let me catch him he was hyperventilating (bless him).

Today - Z and her sister were planning on taking Kal and Nazz out onto the gallops to jump the cross country fences as prep for tomorrow's team chase at Fair Oak. He came out of his stable in a foul mood . . . wouldn't stand still, got his leg OVER the fence, was a bugger to tack up, etc. Once Z was on board he was a right fidget and as they exited the yard he bunny hopped/bucked . . . and out on the gallops he decided it would be more fun to go sideways than forward.

Earlier in the week he pulled his stable mate's rug into his own stable and wee'd on it. He stole another horse's dinner (nothing too harmful in it, thankfully and it shouldn't have been left open on the yard). He chewed his leather headcollar. When tied up on the yard, he wanted some grass so went down on one knee (rather like he was bowing or genuflecting) and stuck his head UNDER the fence.

Yes, he is very much a reprobate. But I do love him.

P - he looks smashing missus
Am envious & cannot wait till back from hols as need to get new saddle for DF before I jump her at all.

Altho you say he's been on the naughty step this week, am sure he's just showing his character slightly ;) :D

He has been firmly on the naughty step . . . and while I do love his character, I could do without the stroppiness.

Can't wait to meet DF :).

Awwwwwwww thank you. I think he's beautiful . . . but he is also such a monkey. How is your gorgeous boy doing?

P

He was also on the naughty step until this morning! He had taken to rearing again, which I was not happy about! Especially since it was in-hand. However, YO was about and although we tried the mean approach to start with, but it was clear that wasn't working and YO completely changed tactic...well, I am SO glad she was around as he is now coming onto the yard with no fuss! Early days, but fingers crossed!
I shall tell him you called him gorgeous, but it might go to his head :P

Kali is an absolute stunner! I do have a soft spot for grey horses! He looks so good in those pictures, it's hard to believe he can be a devil!
