As promised, pics from our test yesterday (and a few more randoms from the rest of the day)
Please excuse my Tellytubby outfit, the weather was awful and I am actually quite petite under the Barbour, hoody, bodywarmer, waterproofs and bright green vest

Anyhoo, here is Mr B and I passing our BH, HURRAY!!!!!
He looks a bit miserable, he hates the rain, and heelwork

The Long Down - illustrating how far away I had to stand, with no communication (he was PERFECT, but I put him in the wrong place and should have put the lead in my pocket)
At the higher levels the handler is out of sight for the duration.

And with the judge afterwards, me still grinning like a total eejit

I will post protection work pictures after tomorrow if anyone would be interested in seeing them, it really is something I could watch all day!

Thanks for looking
smile.gif

Thanks guys - still so proud of him - we shared a bit of steak tonight in celebration (he got the fatty bits), he has a nice new training collar and a rope toy - I have a hangover and sleep deprivation
tongue.gif

More pics to follow tomorrow then
smile.gif

Yes please to protection work piccies. Great pics of Bodo working, and the SchH ones, were there any black/golds there. Love the very dark sable coming back over the A frame.
Once again huge congrats on the BH.
grin.gif

Aw, thanks again guys (I can see his head swelling as we speak, will be hard to get him back outside through the doorframe tonight

)

MM - There was one B&G competing in tracking today and there is at least one in SchIII tomorrow, but as far as I know the rest are all greys -well, they are better at things, generally
tongue.gif
only joking!
That very dark dog is a stunner.

Don't tell my current girls but with you on the sables. My sable I had years ago was an amazing bitch, even if you don't count the fact that she had a hip score in the 90s and won gaiting classes when she was a veteran .
grin.gif

Ravenwood, yesterday was the first night in weeks that I didn't fall asleep chanting '45 paces normal, about turn, ten paces normal, ten paces fast, ten paces slow...." etc etc etc
tongue.gif

Now, to start his tracking career!!!!

Thanks
smile.gif
I think the judge gave us a wee bit of leeway because the weather was so rotten. That's the only way I can explain us passing
tongue.gif

B likes to high five - he always gets me in the face
tongue.gif

Wow, well done. You must of put in such a lot of hard work (sweat and tears too I imagine?!) with him.
Lovely pics, he is such handsome beast.
Whats next for him?

Haha, you're right about the sweat and tears!
All the problems that he had, I helped contribute to, so I had a duty to put it right, even on the day, the things we lost points on were my fault, not his
tongue.gif

I will give him another go with the protection but I can't see us going forward to SchI unless he starts showing some interest - he will work for me, but if someone else is holding the article (roll, pillow, sleeve etc), he just isn't interested.

I am going to try him with tracking and maybe try for TD1 if he still shows the aptitude for it he did when he was younger.

Your turn next!

I bet Ruby would fly her BH.

Henners, I got him at 6 months old from a family friend who runs kennels in Germany, he is show lines but all his back pedigree have their working qualifications, his sire was a phenomenal worker but has sadly since passed away.

We have always had females, he was my first male who I actually owned (as opposed to handling or training for other people) I wasn't as firm as I could have been with him when he was younger, I didn't practise what I preach and at a year he turned into a total rat-bag, but it was mainly due to my handling - he interpreted my worrying about how he would react to another dog as fear - and tried to defend me from all-comers, he barked and snarled and lunged at other dogs.
He ignored anything I tried to say or do, pulled like a train, chased bikes, cars, cats etc.

However I got my act together and we put in a solid year of training and I am so proud of him, he is a star, it was always there but I just didn't know how to bring it out - I do now

We also have his sister.
Here are some pics (any excuse

I train with a Schutzhund club affiliated to the World Union of GSD Associations (based in Germany) about 45 minutes away from us, here in Northern Ireland.

Can you please stop posting pictures of your gorgeous hounds.....I know I have a very gorgeous girlie here, however, seeing pictures of your pair just make me want to get her a friend and have a matching pair!!

Fab pictures. Well done to the both of you! Maybe one day me and Ellie may be up to it!

Thankyou
smile.gif

Your girl is indeed gorgeous, never say never, I didn't think we would make the progress we have in such a short space of time - give it a go
smile.gif

Mum has now been inspired to try a bit harder with Bella (and will probably surpass us
tongue.gif
) however I am totally banned from bringing any more home...

They are both gooorgeous. What a fine pair. When we got Max my first 'male' he tried it on but I am quite firm and he soon learned. I always had bitches and they don't challenge you much. I'm starting to let Paddy know whoes boss, I think because he has taken Max's place he is getting away with a bit at the mo. I will admit he came belting up and jumped on the bed today, he can't usually do that as its to high. Little bugger! He is learning to sit and give a paw at the mo, for a treat. Very good on lead and in the car. i hope he turns out a good one. You should be very proud of your two, a credit to you.xx
laugh.gif

Thankyou Henners
laugh.gif

It's hard, when they are all cute and floppy, to remember that there is a big, bolshy, blokey dog just waiting to burst out - I'll know for next time
tongue.gif

The best of luck to you and Paddy, he sounds like a good one indeed
smile.gif

Since losing my job I've been able to spend more time with her and spend a lot of time in the garden obedience training...she loves it up to a point. But then runs away and hides when she has had enough which is quite comical. As I've said before, she is a different dog out walking with other dogs and she's definitely got the brain in there.

Just a random question... but what lines are you pair from? Our last bitch was from German lines although we got her from Wales and they look so much like her, especially your bitch!

Yes, Bella is a 'run away, run away!' type - going to really concentrate on her properly now and get her sorted.

They are linebred to Nufo v Wienerau and Fanto v Hischel, other big dogs in their pedigree would be the Siegers - Ulk v Arlett, Visum v Arminius and Ursus v Batu (although - that's not unusual
tongue.gif
)

Hmmmm Siegers sound familiar.....will have to ask Mum what her breeding was as I can't remember for the life of me remember!!

Would really love to know what Ellie's breeding is, we have never had her papers from her previous owners
