OH got dragged (against his will) to the yard tonight and I forced him to take some pictures on his phone.
Freddie's becoming really lovely to school now. He's becoming so much straighter and forward, which is what I've really been working on lately.

Please excuse me being so tense! I'm an extremely nervous rider lately due to some incidents and am trying really hard to ignore it... but it's hard (as I'm sure any of you who've lacked confidence will know )

So anyway, pictures...

And some video stills... I love his canter... I know he's on the wrong leg, which is why I pull him up (you'll see in the video)

And a little video... (OH doesn't know about wrong legs so didn't bother videoing the other canters, lol)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXoHtqHUEqs

He looks really lovely, and is going so well. I bet your really proud, your doing a great job on him.

You can see the tension in your arms and legs, try bending at your elbows a little bit more that should help your position a bit more and should in turn help him.

aw i love him! his blue eyes are gorgeous!

4 year olds are so rewarding aren't they! in terms of CC try to bend your elbows more- will help your contact become softer and more elastic (not having a 'go'- this is something i do myself so thought it might help!

Lovely ned hun but you need to try to bend your elbows (as others have said) and let them hang loosely at your sides, hands with thumbs on top and maintain a straight line from your elbow, through your wrist down the rein to the horse's mouth. He'll really thank you for the soft springy feel down the rein that this will give you. Looking stunning for a baby!

Hi Soph, a big well done to you and Freddie and you look fab. Might be good if you breath occassionally too (lol) - I can feel your nerves, afterall we are very similar arent we.

You are doing incredibly well with him - how's the hacking out?

Just off to watch your video!

That made me lol!
Obviously a girl after my own heart! I have no cc, but just wanted to say your horse is absolutely beautiful (am also a sucker for blue eyes) and I am sure once your confidence grows all the advice you have been given will just happen naturally! You should be very proud

You look fab. Remember to enjoy yourself!! Try to bend your elbow as others have said.

I also noticed that you are looking down in almost every photo... I guarantee you, the colour of your horse will not change!! Look up and where you are going, it will change your posture, leg position and a whole lot more for the better!

Thanks guys. I know I have straight arms.

It's developed from my lack of confidence. Every now and then I check myself and pick my hands up but my subconcious lowers them when I'm not looking and buries them in my lap, lol.

clipcloppop, they just Mountain Horse, Mountain High Rider boots, they're sooo comfy.

Firstly, he is GORGEOUS! A real little stunner

I know how you feel re: nerves...my daughter has had some scary(For her) experiences and tends to panic...I tell her to sing while she's riding. It helps her to relax, which is half the battle won. Good luck with your boy, he's lovely
