Just a couple of pics taken today in the sunshine - Doddi is just learning to sit on command, she has been very quick to learn probably because once she sits' she gets her grub! Freddie is a working cocker, two years old next month.

Lovely Doddi!!

The closest I could get to them both looking at me at the same time!

Ravenwood - cocker, nightmare! That vacant look in the photo isn't put on, it's permanent, and he doesn't help himself by having a three second memory, makes it very difficult to teach him anything! We don't know what's happened to him in the past, but beaters shouting and carrying sticks blew his pea size brain. He isn't at all gun shy, and we always have sticks in our hands, but something has triggered a memory and now seeing a stick means running back to the Landrover. I am going out this Saturday with him on the lead, whilst OH shoots and I semi beat, hopefully he will cotton on that I'm not going to beat him senseless! I'm only staying until lunch, shooting comes well below riding my horse!

Oh No - what a shame

I reckon you have the right idea though - poor little thing. Fingers crossed all goes well next Saturday - keep us updated please.

I was out last week for the first time in a fortnight (due to fire!) and Flyn went mad on the first drive, running left right and centre, dropping runners so I had to run after them myself, etc etc!!

Luckily though he soon settled down, but even now at the age of 5 I struggle to get him to present to hand - he would much rather chuck them at me from a foot away!! It would seem to me that once spaniels get something stuck in their brain - its bloody hard to overcome it!!

Now labs on the other hand - soooo easy
