As some of you may remember, from my previous threads asking for advice, I had a rescue filly come to me. As I mentioned she was untouched and had to be herded both on and off the trailer, and we created a 'chute' for her to be rounded into the stable on arrival. She behaved impeccably in a stable considering she had never been in one before. I soon found out she was anything but aggressive, just absolutely terrified of people. We spent hours together creating a trusting bond, she is a very inquisitive little girl. She arrived to me on the 1st December, and now on the 18th, I'd like to share how well we have been doing.
This is Mishka when I first saw her about 3 and a half weeks ago.
This is Mishka at her new home on my yard on 3rd December.
This is Mishka on the 7th of Dec once we could get close enough to get he rusty head collar off and have a little groom.
Mishka on the 10th December walking out.
This is Mish on Saturday on her first turnout with me, and she ran to me at the gate to be caught!!
I feel in just over 2 weeks we have done very well together, she whinnys at the gate for me, she runs to me in the paddock, she loves a good scratch and she definitely thinks I'm the lovely lady who bring nice new foods! (She didnt know what a carrot was until she met me!) We have been wormed, de-loused and feet trimmed and vet checked and all is A OK!
Thank you to everyone who gave me advice, I am very, very pleased with how we both are doing and the bond we have created together. Hopefully with many more good times to come together!!
