Took the pony to the first Dressage for the winter, only did P18 as i didn't have the other Prelim test

So, first ones to arrive so had plenty of time to get tacked up. Went round to warm up when i was told i was on next ( half an hour early! ) so i just had time for a quick walk and trot round then into the dressage arena.

It was our first time doing dressage out door in an arena (normally indoor...as you might have guessed) so i wasn;t sure what to expect. Pony had a good look around then judge tooted the horn.

Test went well, pony did't try to look at too much of what was doing on outside of the arena. His canter was rushed and unblanced but we are working on that so i didnt expect it to be too good. Trot and walk i was very pleased with as we can maintain and out line throughout now. :D

So hung round for another 2 hours to get sheet and i got 60%! i know its not that high but i was verry please as he behaved very well (the winning score was 65, so not that far off!). Got mainly 7's and 6's and two 5's for our canter but i didnt expect anything more for that.

So very please with pony and another dressage next weekend! :D:D

(sorry if photos are a bit bluured, my mam was trusted with the camera whilst fathers job was calling )

The tweed was a bargain!

Well done on your test. :)

Horses are like cats, they have a tapetum lucidum in their eyes that gives the bright 'cats eye' effect. Your Mum probably had the flash on for that photo. ;)

Don't say 'only' 60%!!!! :D That score would qualify you for the second round of Trailblazers Dressage!!!! Your marks are very respectable, 7s for goodness sake :D
Rant over now! :D

Well done, your pony is gorgeous.
You know whwat you are working on, the canter will come.

If you use www.dressagediagrams you can buy, download and print off tests. I do this and then laminate them. It's better than buying a set of tests, manyof which you never use because they are for a 60x20 arena. (rare in these parts)
