LOL - well I couldn't even afford a free horse at the moment so I am entitled to look at horses for sale for 50,000 if I want to

But the chestnut gelding I put the link up for earlier is just what I'll be after. Perfect for me (as much as I can tell from a photo)! Just wish he was a mare. If I saw him in three / four years time I would be ringing up right now.

Been to Derby a handful of times, but it really has to be one of the most depressing sales on earth.

Beeston looks like Ascot Sales in comparison, and I believe the ones that remain unsold there because nobody wants them, are taken over to Derby for a sure sale...

Good grief - In that case, can you imagine the comments I'd have got if I'd have posted a pic of Snowy before we had him?

Now that picture has perfectly illustrated the term 'potential'.
You had the vision to look beyond what was in front of your eyes, and see the long term/bigger picture - her potential to become a swan.
Some people seem very short sighted...

Now I really like her, she looks like a really good sort - that pic wouldnt put me off. Is this what you meant when you posted it??

Have to say I TOTALLY disagree with the tot on the big horse piccies - what a ridiculous thing to do!

That is often a ploy dealers use to sell a horse. Stick a toddler on it's back and everybody will think it's a really sweet gentle horse. Works too with some people.

Off topic, but my friend used to work for a dealer when he was in his early teens, and the dealer would sell his horses pretending that they belonged to 'A'.
A was instructed to cry and cuddle the horse, so the buyers would think it was a much loved family pet.
And it worked!

i think porridge may have looked a little poor and un muscled but in the pic she clearly has a certain something and class - it just needing building up!

i def look at what a horse can be not what it is - if i looked at what it was and it was already what i wanted i could never afford it!!!
