OK so thank you to all those who commented on my "how much" thread and gave advise. Anyone who wishes to catch up on the background can see my thread here

So anyway, I now have Logan who is around 20 months old, hes meant to be a cob but I have my doubts as to how much cob is actually in there although I'm sure he will fill out. I took some piccies this morning at the yard - he was already on my yard so didnt have to travel to me which was handy.

Girl who I bought him from is pregnant so hasn't really done much with him but I am looking forward to working with him and getting to know him - hes very willing to learn and a little sweetie although a tad pushy and bargey at the moment but that will be the first thing I work on with him - and I just got back from the yard after mucking out 2 stables and doing 2 lots of hay and feed and water - sat down and went "oh wow I have 2 horses now" :D

You aren't near West Lothian/ Bathgate by any chance??? I just emailed about a similarly described youngster, asking £950 on equine adverts, she hasn't answered as yet and there was no picture to compare!!

Not as far out as Bathgate - we are the other side of Blackridge - as far as I know she never advertised him for sale as she decided not to sell him, then changed her mind and offered him to me for a quick sale to a home she knew :)

And thank you everyone for your comments - he is a lovely boy and has masses of potential :D

Yay! Pony is lovely! Very willing and once he gets what you want he is happy to oblige you :D

I think ou will both have fun and this will be a great experience for you both! Nothing like competing on a home produced pony!

Having a little chuckle to myself because if you are who i think you are (& i think i am right cos i recognise that lovely mal in your siggy) when i met you recently to visit a certain lovely bay cob i used to own, you were tying to entice me into buying this wee fella & i refused to look!! Good luck with him, he is very sweet! And no doubt i will see him again in the future - if you need a hand give me a shout! :)

Oh hi :D How are you? Small world in the internet :D

Am fine! Isn't it just?! :) You have less will power than i do then & will be glad i didn't look over that stable wall!:)

I totally wasn't even looking for another horse either, it was just one of those opportunities that comes along when you least expect it so I went with it. And thanks for the offer of help - which I will probably take you up on at some point :D

Oh Hevs, you bad girl! :p What height do you reckon he'll make?

LOL :D yes I am terribly naughty - hes my birthday present to myself :D

I dunno what height he will make - hes quite bum high at the moment, maybe 14hh at his bum atm or there abouts - but he has these massive hocks and huge legs which make me think he will go bigger than the "string test" guesstimate of 15'1 - once I get his passport I can contact breeder and ask about parentage - he was bred quite local so shouldnt be too hard

How high does he currently stand? He look slike he will be a big lad, i likey :)

I measured him properly with a horse measuring stick this morning - he is standing 14'1 at his bum at the moment. Most of the horses from the place that bred him make 15'2 ish so Im expecting him to be around that

Wow - this thread was almost 3 years ago, I cant believe how quickly its gone by. I just wanted to post an update on Logan and show you all some piccies of him now that he has been backed. He is the first horse I have ever backed, I have had help from an experienced friend but did all of the ground work and long lining and so on myself - my friend sat on him first, and did his first trot with him - I was a little nervous if truth be told but I neednt have worried as he was an absolute angel, and has been through the entire process. I had first canter on him out hacking and it was brilliant. He is now walking, trotting and cantering in the school - hacks out in front or behind. In fact he actually led an older more experienced horse past a scary fridge that had been dumped at the side of the road at which I had a total proud mummy moment :D and he canters in front out hacking too which I am delighted with. We have pretty much just been getting our big boy pants out and about hacking and hes been turned away for most of the winter, with a few days riding here and there, the odd hack or 20mins in the school working over poles on the ground. He has done his first shows, and has his first jumping show end of this month (its only tiny cross poles but more for experience of being at the show than anything).

So suffice to say I am very very proud of this wee man, well I say wee he is about 16hh at his bum and still bum high. I am very much looking forward to doing some jumping and cross country with him this year. :D Here are some piccies

With his big brother Arion, who is 16'2

Ooo I just love before and after photos. I started reading from the beginning of the thread not realising it was almost 3 years old, so a lovely surprise to see your boy now. He's very handsome, well done you.
