I have just worked out how to use the albums to insert images (or I think I have we'll soon see) and so I thought about a new thread for pictures
So please share pics and stories about your first pony ...
No matter if you were 50 and your 'pony' was 17.2 (like my Husband) or if you were 5 and your pony was a Shetland with attitude.
So to get started here is my first pony Peggy-Sue
I was about 17 when I got her from a small add in H and H. She had been a useless trekking pony then was sold to a nice young girl who was terrified of her. When I went to try her she cantered off with everyone. Peggy was about 12 or 14 when I got her, 14.2 of unknown breeding. The vet who vetted her sent me a 'good luck with this highly strung pony' note! In some ways I was very stupid to buy her as it did take me a long time and a lot of patience and a great deal of learning to learn to ride her and make her what I wanted. I had been riding about 2 years when I bought her and had never been the most confident of riders. But by the time I was 20 I had a lovely all rounder who i could do anything with and take anywhere. Here I am riding her at the riding school where I worked, it was in the evening after our annual show which is why I am half wearing smart clothes and half not! I loved that Pony and kept her till she died of colic at the age of about 27 ... SO that's my first Pony.
(actually this is a bit of a lie I part owned a pony on working livery for about 6 months before getting Peggy but he and I never got along, I sold him to someone who adored him, laughed when he bucked, and did very well jumping him)
