Some of you may remember that we lost our lovely little rescue Spike at the start of July.
Well we have finally got our new Rescue girl. Her name is Ava, she is around a year old and was found wandering the streets of Spain covered in fleas and ticks. She was cleaned up and blood tested/vaccinated and then transported here (and yes we have already had the debate about whether we should be rehoming dogs from abroad in the UK so prefer not to have that conversation here)
We got her on Tuesday. She was very wary at first, but has very quickly started to settle in and gain confidence. She is very gentle but does like to have a mad 5 minutes around the garden. She has no recall whatsoever at the moment but we will start working on that in the coming weeks so she will have to stay on the lead for the foreseeable. She has already learned sit and lie so cottons on quickly.
She seems to have an absolute fascination with chasing birds and although the cat is keeping his distance she has not shown any sign of wanting to chase him, just to play with him (fingers crossed and touch wood this continues).
