Pictures/Opinions Please! Tack on a Black Horse.

I am a dinosaur tack snob. No horse should be adorned with bling, patent, piping or any other rubbish.

....oh, I dunno...at least it's brown!

I've always had black tack because that's what fit and worked, but I'm a recent brown tack convert! My dark bay looks fine in black for now since we don't show at all and at least it fits but once he's stopped growing so sodding quickly I'll be straight on the hunt for a lovely dark brown saddle!

This is the kind of bling I get slightly horrified by...

Oh god, I need to rinse my eyes with bleach!

In all seriousness, OP; I think a dark brown would like nice on a black horse, like the photos others have shared above, and brown is always the way to go if you want to get into showing. Also I think this is the perfect time for you to share pics of your new pony!

so long as you don't ride out full western pleasure mode CG ;)
cortez the stitching on that is fab.

I had black tack originally, because it is what the saddler had that fitted. I bought quite a nice black bridle too. But when I decided to buy a new saddle I am very pleased that my hhoer friends convinced me to get brown, one even gave me her old bridle so that I would :D. and I later did a deal with another for her old jeffries traditional bridle which I love a lot.

I have seen so many black saddles have colour fastness issues that I will always have brown in the future.
