Pictures: Puppy prep - Tally's about to pop!

Hello All -

Getting so excited for our Springer spaniel, Tally, to have her puppies! She is full to bursting. They are due in a week and she is looking HUGE!

We have already sold one of the pups to Lady Eliza in our village, which is rather exciting. They are beautifully bred by Countryways Gundogs. Tally mated with Clearmeadow Flash of Countryways (aka Milo)(http://countrywaysgundogs.com/index...d=31:ftw-clearmeadow-flash-&catid=2&Itemid=42) who is a field trial champion. They will be fantastic working dogs, but saying that, Tally is a wonderful pet for us. She comes out riding, is incredible astute and learns quickly and is so loyal it's untrue.

Can't wait to have pups around the house again. The OH has built an amazing whelping pen in the kitchen, we have summoned a wealth of helpers (ie kids in the village) and we're ready to go, exciting!

Eeek, very excited for you. One of my springer bitches had pups recently, they are just over three months old now, lurcherlu who is a member on here had one.

Love working the spaniels, it's addictive, what are you hoping to keep?

Sadly can't keep any of them :-( Two spaniels already in our not very big cottage. I think if we were outnumbered by the dogs all hell would break loose!

That's a shame - why are you having a litter?

Tally is very well-bred, we have had quite a bit of interest in potential puppies and I was keen to be responsible for the breeding as well as currently having the time/space etc to facilitate it. It shan't be a regular event I shouldn't think, but I'm still really excited.

Is she health tested? The crowd of helpers won't be helping at the whelping, will they? Bit stressy!

Wow - this forum's a tough crowd.

Yes, she has been health tested and no the crowd of helpers will not be there during the whelping, just (individually) to help feed etc to help me out.

Wow - this forum's a tough crowd.

That's why I read but rarely bother posting on here; When I posted asking advice on feeding my puppy it was implied that she was probably so badly bred it wouldn't really matter what I fed her.
