Well mum and Aunty Chris got me and Sunny in very early this morning and fed us breakfast at 7am
on a Sunday too
Then they disappeared and the big blue lorry appeared - ooh party time
Mum gave me a quick groom and booted me up and off we set
Pigged out on the lorry, heard mum using some naughty language when we were held up for 10 minutes by roadworks, she sounded really annoyed
Got to Eland Lodge and Jo and Will tacked me and Sunny up while mum and Aunty got their bibs and got changed. Warmed up ok bar trying to cart mum round the ring as she had left the snaffle in, hee hee
She popped me over the warm up log but sat there like a numpty so I scrambled over it just to wake her up so she actually rode the next 2 so I obliged by jumping nicely
Sunny went off with Aunty Chris and bronced coming out of the start box
Then it was our turn, yeehaa and we were off, flew the first 3 and then romped it down the hill and over the house, through the water and then mum had a breather as she was out of puff, gonna have to work on her fitness I think
then flew the sheep feeder and slanty thing putting 2 strides in instead of 3
can't remember what mum said but she sounded shocked! had a trot round the tight corner as heard mum muttering about brakes and steering and over the log and pheasant feeder, she let me go up the hill woohoo and we flew over the wonky log, another breather before the steps as it was a very tight turn and then over the brick wall, I hadn't done that one before so mum gave me a pat after that one
down some shallow steps and onto the water, in ok at trot and then OMG there was a blue scary thing on the way out, I had a damn good look at it but mum kept her legs on (for a change!) and we popped out over it
then she opened me up as we went through the leap of faith fences, and popped the rails with a sharp turn after to the bridge and over the trakhener, flew along and over the crocodile and log pile onto mum's bogey fence
well she put me at the middle part of it, sat up, legs were vice like round my belly
so I was nice to her and we popped it in a reasonable fashion and then cantered over the finish line with mum patting me like it was going out of fashion
Jo then took me back to the lorry while mum got her breath back and I had a nice wash down, think mum needed one too judging by the look of her
then snoozed in the sun for a while before going on the nice shady lorry for a well earned nap
Mum then came back really excited, something to do with coming 9th out of 40 and not many went clear so if I can get her fitter we will hopefully come home with a nice rosette next time so I can pose for my photo
Am now chilling in the field with Sunny who did extremely well and even overtook someone, not bad for the hairy beasty eh
Aunty Chris just had one circle on him before the jump out of water so got 20 for that and 2 technical refusals where Sunny stopped and then popped the fence and he was only 90 seconds behind my time so not bad as he only has little legs after all
So am hoping mummy brings me a nice tea later on and gives me some well earned tlc tonight
This was piccies of the course, only 2' - 2'4" so am hoping mum gets braver and takes me round the novice next time
Grandma will send mum her photos later today hopefully so you can see me in action
