ARGH!!

I thought I had sold my lovely cob, to the perfect family home, the lady buying him was planning to keep him with a friend of hers, small friendly little yard, just down the road from me. I was really happy with it all, has been sch a hard decision to sell him and knowing he was going to , in my opinion a near perfect home made it all so much easier to deal with.

I have just had a V.mail to say they will be pulling out of the purchase as................. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED PIEBALDS ON THE YARD?!?!?!?!?!

Madness

I know a farmer who wouldn't have 'cow ponies' on his livery yard for many many years (he has permitted one on now I think!)

What?!!!
I cant believe some people!!
It must be an excuse!!!

Not a place in Kent is it - I have heard that a yard there won't have coloureds as they think they will attract theft more than solid coloured.

Personally it could also be an excuse in that they have had second thoughts - if I wanted the horse, I would find another yard, that said, never had a problem with yards having my coloureds on it.

He has just passed a 5 stage vetting for them, they have tried him half a dozen times, in all situations, and have knocked me down in price....

Yep, probably is an excuse - But why cant people just be honest!!

I was thinking this, too. I know a place in Kent that doesn't want coloureds on the yard.

They don't know what they are missing - piebalds are fab!

If thats the best excuse they can come up with then he is better off not going with them

What just Piebalds????? What about Skewbalds or bay Tobianos or ........................

That's got to be a cop-out

If they wanted the pony, they'd find a different yard.

Sorry you're being pi$$ed about by these silly people

I may be biased but he is fantastic!!
Perfect in everyway - If you look at him with one eye shut - heehee!!

He is a typical cheeky cob and exactly what they needed!

never heard of such a thing around here !!!. If she wants him that badly she should find somewhere else nearby to put him. Do you think she has just changed her mind. What a shame. I love coloureds, think they are fab.

She was a first time buyer and had been 'taken under the wing' of this particular YO.

So who knows.

Their loss eh?!?

Oooo yes - I had not thought of that one!
Bet thats what it is!!
Well thought JM07

Sadly, funds etc means I desperately need to sell the little mite, and I thought these were the right people...ho hum...

how stupid

people used to think of coloureds as gippo horses but I always loved them and they are so popular now... defo an excuse to get out of buying him and def their loss

My friend was riding in Richmond park the other day on her piebald cob and a little girl shouted ahhh look a cow pony

That's odd!

My yard owner has just had 3 of us turn up with piebalds in the space of a few months and when mine came on Saturday -last one to arrive - she made a jokey comment about it turning into a gypsy camp and not letting more on but she was totally joking. I think JM07 might be right!

It is quite amazing, however there are people who still regard coloureds as gypsie horses, I do not quite understand what difference that makes anyway!!

In that case there are some mighty fine gypo horses around.

Some top sportshorses . Even pure tb gypo's

Agree with jm, yard owner is trying to sell them her own pone, by the sounds of things their loss!
