I do not have time to look back as need to leave for yard in 10 mins! So can anyone answer my questions please?........

We have 2 TB's with 'mud fever like' scabs - believe it is caused by flies as only on their white feet and we are by a river!

I have bought pig oil & sulphur - in separate containers......

- Is this 2 cupfuls Suphur to 1 litre pig oil?
- How do I store it and how long can I store it for?
- How often should I apply this?

As I only have 3 little TB feet to do with it, 1 litre seems to be an awful lot?!!

THANK YOU

Mix it so it looks like a thick milkshake - sorry I do it by eye/feel. TAKE OFF WHITE GOLD!!!

You can keep it in a sealed container in a cool place and it will last ages - mixed I tend to use it within a few weeks.

For me, I can easily use a litre at a time, specially when oiling up for the first time in the autumn, but I do have two very hairy horses

As you are not blessed with hair, once the mud has dried and slipped off, then apply before t/o or at least every other day. Do not wash off, leave to build up in the hair to get the most benefit.

Oil provides the barrier and sulphur is excellent for treating and preventing skin problems.

Finally on the heels try this as extra protection:

1 heaped tablespoon of sudocream mixed with 1 teaspoon of sulphur and 5 drops of tea tree oil - great at healing, soothing and protecting. Also good on belly and sheaths to keep sweet itch at bay and heal scrapes.

If you want the really long detailed PM I do about P&S and hairy horses legs, I can send it to you.

Please do, that would be fab! - none of ours are really hairy: 2 full TB's, 1 TBx and 1 New Forest - so no need to send anything about real hairy beasties! Thanks lots
