Pigeon Toes and 5 stage vettings...

I don't know if things have changed or not but I had a lovely mare pass a five stage that had pigeon toes.

She said she was sound on the day and could not fail her for the pigeon toes but did go on to make me aware of the problems that could occur with the fact she did have them.
 
Similar experience here - horse passed basic (3 stage?) vetting- Mild pigeon toed at front, was noted on vetting but of marked no clinical significance. Didn't have any issues with insurance and have never had any related issues with horse's soundness since then. Best of luck! Any doubts, I'd speak to your vet and make sure you're comfortable before you proceed.
 
It will depend what you have told the vet the job of the horse will be. The vet will make a decision based on the uses you have stated for the horse. the vet will also add it as a note and discussion point. Should not fail unless affect movement and you want to do dressage or showing at a high level.
 
I had a horse vetted with pigeon toes that failed, but I think there was a contributory factor as well (I couldn't be present for the vetting). I think there was a slight soundness problem on the day, so taken overall the vet failed the horse.
 
Presumably you have informed the purchaser of the pigeon toes and that this is not going to come as a nasty surprise at the vetting.

Assuming this is the case, then mostly it will be the vets job to point out the pigeon toes to the purchaser and explain any possible ramifications depending upon the severity.

Generally speaking, it is a conformation fault as in weak hocks, or a curb/splint etc and not always a matter that would cause a horse to fail a vetting.
