Hi, Just a quicky but would you buy a horse with pigeon toes (not bad) and that dished? Priced under 2k and everything else ok?

I did!!!

Hasn't had a day's lameness and has not been affected by it in anyway although he is booted to the max!!! :D

Some of the best competitive horses I know do one or the either or both ;)

I did however have him vetted and asked the vet to particularly check his legs. She said he was 100% sound.

My horse is slightly pigeon toed it does not effect him at all, we hunt, jump etc. I don't think a horse that dished would put me off either, especially if price was right.

I bought my boy a couple of months ago and he is pigeon toed and dishes slightly. I love him to bits and the vet didnt seem worried about him and nor did the farrier

Thanks, thats good to know. I used to have one that dished and never caused him any probs but think I am getting more wary as I get older. May have to start bribing hubby for money now to buy it :-)

as long as you dont expect to do well showing at a high level I dont see a problem .My mare had one pidgeon toe but by using a good farrier it was un-noticable after 3 sets of shoes. She has always dished when not ridden strongly enough, but has fantastic paces otherwise. She has never had a lame day in her 19 years, even when she has knocked herself in the field as is still sound. She has done v well at showjumping (up to 120/fox) Hope this helps,
