First, I would like to point out that Frank has never come running when I click :p after 15 years :p

Oh and yes, we do have an extra tunnel now. Excuse the mess it's due a proper clear out but Millie insists on bulldozing (I do think I should have called her JCB really) all the hay off the table and then sitting on it (the table).
She did also sit on tiffin while tiffin was in one of the tunnels and she thought then would be a good time to sit on top of it.
She would also like to point out she isn't fat, just much longer than tiffin. They're a year old now so Tiffin is just destined to be a little one :) now.

Love piggy wiggies! They're very clever when food may be involved.

I've taught mine to round themselves up and go back in their pen, because it's either they go find the goodies I've hidden in their beds, or they'll be hunted down and cuddled. My piggies do not appreciate cuddles.

They also know exactly who's footsteps are coming and wheek accordingly. Strangers are not afforded wheeks and are to be eyed with suspicion.

They are like mini indoor ponies; they don't take kindly to other piggies being in their space, there's usually a clear pecking order and they kick, bite and fling wee. Little weirdos!

Carmen my previous pair, when I lived in a very small annexe at the yard and they shared my small kitchen/lounge area knew which person had got off the sofa. My friend could, I would be wheeked at. They are very clever.

The odd thing about this is that they arent' actually even that into grapes (they only get them v. occasionally) they often don't even eat them but I have trained the click= food with other grub mostly.

Our pecking order seems a bit variable. Millie spent a lot of time rumble strutting and being ignored and you'd often think she was in charge overall. She's more nervous of people though so I'm pleased she will now make the decision to come in my direction.
Tiffin is a lot more vocal generally but if she bum pops to tell Millie to back off she does, despite the fact that she's tiny in comparison.

Love Millie's colours, almost like a pale version of my Poppy. Today my neutered boy met the two girls. It went surprisingly well. They are in their new hutch tonight but nobody has made it down the ramp yet.

Do you keep yours on fleece, ester? I really like this idea and have desperately tried to make fleece blankets work, but I can't get the hay out of the material, which then gets stuck in the washing machine. Mine are currently on shredded tea bag offcut type paper.

Rumble strutting, pop-corning and zoomies are the reasons that everyone should get to know a guinea pig.

I've had some very agressive lady piggies that terrorised their cage mates, but it was possibly because they were in pain (it was later discovered that one had a huge intestinal tumour and another had ovarian cysts). The ones I have now are much less grumpy and it's nice to see. :) Two of them behave like babies so that they can get away with taking food out of the others' mouths without getting beat up.

This is my oldest piggy that has put up with a lot over the years. Pure abyssinian, but very 'compact' compared to the others. She cost me a fortune in vet bills a couple of months ago when she got bloat (my fault for giving them a dish full of greens instead of hand feeding over a longer period of time).

No I don't, I can't get my head round using it all the time/I like my washing machine too much! I think sometimes people have issues with bedding coming out if they have a C+C set up though, they seem to be the ones that use it most. I do spend quite a lot of time sweeping up in the kitchen, where they have a bespoke table made with the bit of worktop we had left over when it was done last year lol.

They have a ferplast as indoor housing and an outside hutch (+ grass run, we essentially have all weather and exercise options covered!) I use aubiose in both of those, previously it tended to be whatever bedding the pony was on . I like the aubiose as it has no residual smell and the top stays dry for them.
The fleece is in their lounge run which is evenings, we haven't had enough exercise days only. It's on top of a couple of waterproof tablecloths. I will be shaking the hay off it outside and chucking it in a bucket over the weekend and it can drip dry.

These have some backstory in that I lost my previous pair within a month of each other just before lockdown (they were 5 but wasn't expected). At which point I said I wasn't going to have anymore as it was too upsetting. . . . but it was so bloody quiet! Then one lady locally who I had contacted to see if she had any ex breeding females after I lost the first one put up some babies and they looked cute, so I figured I'd go look, just in time for lockdown and as such spent quite a lot of time in the lounge as they had energy to get rid of, the lawn needed some TLC and it was an ideal opportunity for some taming.
I am going to see if I can squueze a slightly bigger hutch outside as that was bought for the previous girls when they were 4, and not particularly zoomy- as that might minimise the necessity to give them the lounge.

These are the old girls, they were one bold and one nervier one, so it's interesting having the same combo but it does work well as if Tiffin is nomming something Millie (the funky) has to be brave and come and get some too if she can't steal it. Millie was a lone baby, and definitely looked like she had made the most of it when I got her!
