I'm pleased for the owners but I think it was the wrong selection, especially as he didnt do a good test at Burghley and they are not a proven 4* combination.

Daisy has such consistant form. ARGHHHHH!!!!!
 
as has been discussed on more than one occasion Daisy was not interested in going as individual and they havent quite made their minds up about the team
 
I bet Daisy did not want to go as she is in a pretty competitive position being only 15 marks off the leader. In wet ground and over a twisty tricky course she could soon make this up. She has been to Euros twice before and its only 3*. Same reason Susanna Bordone has taken Ava to Burghley.
 
it will indeed be interesting to see if there are any withdrawals tommorow........ as i said it is only rumour but i hear the horse did get injured in poland and is looking doubtful at best. Personally i love flint and i hope this is just the burghley rumour mill working over time
 
Hmmm - I wonder why Nicola Wilson didn't get chosen (I know she is currently an Individual) but as she has done so well recently with Opposition Buzz........thought she may have been a good choice for the team?? But, what do I know.....??

eventerlad, i doubt they will have enough faith in NW's dr being in the low 40s (or better) as this is really what is required at Champs now, the Germans and French will prob have 3 riders who can do reliably do low 40s or better, and round a 3*, we can't afford to be far behind after the dr.... and hopefully not at all!
 
i don't know, but i think they should have those likely to do the best dr on the team, we can't count on 1 or 2 of the French and Germans to get 20 or more xc to let us catch up if they're way ahead after dr, esp as it's 3* not 4*.
if it was up to me i'd take Ruth Edge on P.C. Wilson, v experienced jockey, super on the flat, good 3* form, and put her in the team, and have Piggy as an individual... if the rumours about another combo being out are true.

I heard that Nicola Wilson is going into team and Piggy is running as an individual. Oli told a friend last night that Flint is fine.
 
What a brill opportunity for Piggy, but I do not think that is the best selection - dressage result consistency worries me a bit for that combination. Same too for MK, there are others...................

Never sure what the selectors look for anyway!
 
Daisy's getting married in a few weeks - I understand being competitive , but hopefully she won't be going down the aisle in jodhpurs !
 
Lucretia - Naw, like a bit of that eventin stuff innit. Makes a change from the SJ lark. Also do a bit of lead rein showin - it's smashin wearin me plastic 'igh heels and totterin' abart like. Trouble is me mini skirt keeps ridin' up and it int arf uncomfy.

Gotta dash - goin to get me roots done.
