How could I have not discovered this delicacy for my dogs before
shocked.gif
Apart from the fact they are expensive (I paid £2.50 for two today) the dogs love them, I feel so guilty I have never bought them for Jura and Talisker

But am I right in thinking that if you feed too many they will upset the dog's stomach? They seemed very greasy, like pork scratchings, but since I dont eat pork scratchings I wasnt sure

You cruel mummy!

Mine love these! They even know the word now.

If I say "pigs Ears" they go mental!!

Yes they are rich so not to often, mine get them as a treat after clipping nails & cleaning ears out so they sit lovely to have the work done to be rewarded!!

I blackmail my dogs & I am proud of it!!

Otto loves them, and I have a box full sat waiting for him to much his way through, but I am terrified of giving him anything but his food at the moment!

He had a pig's ear a couple of weeks agao and then had diarrohea for a week, it cost me £60 to sort him out

The vet reckons he ate something which upset his tum and then a bacteria got in and made itself at home.

The only thing I can think of he had that wasn't his normal grub was a Pig's Ear. But he has had them in the past and they've done nothing to him!

They are the only food he gets posseive over (not nasty though!)

Where are you getting them for £2.50 for 2! Mine where £3 for 6!

Countrywide

You are just showing off with that price you know

What I hadnt reckoned on was that Flick can eat one in about 2 seconds flat - I gave her one before I went for my interview this afternoon, she had finished it before I could put my make-up on and get out the door

there are certain ones NOT to buy - next time I am in the petshop I will find out their name for you. My gawd they stink when you open the bag, I have never smelt anything so bad in my life - they had to live in the shed when I got them - of course the dogs love them, but now I stick to normal regular stinkin ones. They have a foreign name on the bag and I think a blue banner -- urgh!
If you go to a dog show you can buy huge bags of piggy ears for a really good price, would suggest you take something to haul them home with though

They do indeed produce the best and most explosive poo you could dream of if given in excess. Thankfully Haz being 86KG could tackle a big one (they come in different sizes) but anymore and BOOOOM! His bottom exploded .... a better snack ( for him, but totally disgusting for us was....wait for it....dried whole pigs snouts!)

Bother, mum was at LKA over the weekend, would have asked her to get me some if I had thought
frown.gif
Ah well, plenty of shows next year
grin.gif

Thanks for the warning about the smelly ones - I will avoid them - doubt my dogs would mind of course

Poor ickle Flickle is only 19kg and she ate hers very quickly.... oooops!!!!

Ouch! That's expensive!! We pay £1.99 for a pack of 15. Only as treats though and yes they love them
smile.gif

Our puppies always seem to love lamb and pork hocks (just the tiny joint) from the butcher, I always save them in the freezer for the next litter as when they're about 4 weeks they're brilliant for them to chew. The big dogs can't be arsed with eating them, lazy doggies!

We feed whole and half pigs heads and the snout is ALWAYS the first place the dogs start, they love that part.

I am sure she will be fine don't worry.... meant to be good for their teeth! Haz was a particularly stinky and foul hound it has to be said!lol! Funnily enough he never ever smelt bad perse coat wise but would go and find the very best hog wallowing spots and lie in fetid mud for hours and eat the most gawd awful dried tripe sticks...now they really do stink!

I know, I just dont fancy feeding it

omg omg I couldn't actually feed them anything that actually resembled an animal part - ok so the pigs ear is shaped like a pigs ear, but his whole head? I would expect to wake up with it laying next to me in bed...

I thought it was a rolled up dog chew and announced loudly after seeing the vet on the way out in a packed surgery, to Hazzie..
"who's my gud ickle puppy....lets go get you some pizzle to lick...you like licking pizzle don't you????!!!!Mummy's ickle soldier loves his pizzle!!!" I am such a d*ck sometimes!

Lol...a bit of skinning calves in kennels numbed me to that!!

Could you cope with lambs ribs/shoulder blades? They love them too.

They even have the ear tag holes in them,Gross.

Just to make Breeze_Mum even more squeamish, I'm familiar with cutting the metal clips out

My dogs get pig ears, cow ears and bulls penises. I buy the later in natural length, and cut them up with my largest pruning shears.

*whispers*But "real" ladies call the later bulls muscles, I've been told.*stops whispering*

from Sweden.
