Following on from my post a couple of weeks ago about Ozzy not liking pigs, we had our first training session today with me riding and a friend on foot (laden with treats) for him to follow. When we first got to the pigs he was really on his toes and prancing about but we got him to relax with a few carrots. After he'd got used to the smell and the noise I managed to get him walking quite sensibly past them until about 3/4 of the way when he could see the end in sight and took off with me to get the experience over and done with!
Pretty much the same story on the way back so we tried returning to the point where he bolted to try and make him walk all the way but he still ran off each time.
So we still have a bit of work to do. . . but it is still progress in my eyes as we actually got past them . . . we just need to work on control going forwards!
