Slowly doing up my tack room so if anyone has any ideas for storing/hanging the following:

7000 pairs of riding boots
Lots of heacollars (spares)
Riding hats x 6
Rugs
Bits
Spare everything
Etc

I’d be so grateful. I’d show you a before picture but I lack the skills!

Also does anyone know where you get the bags that the rug washers use to return rugs in, clear plastic?

Much obliged!

You could try the shrink bags (that you suck air from with a hoover) for rugs. They reduce a double duvet to the size of a pillow.

For riding hats and other small things I have some square cube storage units (look up ikea kallax for the sort of thing) - often on Facebook marketplace. You can get canvas and plastic drawers for them which are good for grooming kits.

I’ve got the hoover bags thingies and I think they will work well. We’ve had to get them as I didn’t realise how bad my rug habit is. We don’t really use them for 80% of the horses! If we didn’t have the hoover bags we’d never fit them in.

I have a drill and some screws and just half drill a screw into the wall whenever I need to hang something, I have an old set of drawers we acquired with the house and a set of plumbers van racking from one of our old vans, whips are stored in a bit of pipe held upright by a thing for attaching fence posts to concrete.

I’m not allowed to do DIY in the house 🤣

I would not class my tack room as posh (it's in one of the stables) but I picked up this lockable metal cabinet from my FB for free the other day and have put boots, numnahs, first aid stuff and boxes of random nonsense (girths bits boots etc) in it, it's made it all look a lot tidier with the added bonus of being rodent proof!
