Pimples or groves?

Last winter my matting was pimple side up, but this year when i cleaned them out and relayed them ready for this winter i thought about using the grove side up - as the pimples are such a pain to sweep!

I am bedding down tommorow ready for weeked - so before i do has anybody used the mattings with the groves ontop?

i found that if you have the groves up and they are laying down when they go to get up their feet slip in the direction of the grooves - really bad when wet slip every where
