16hh gelding, previous career hurdling. Had Superficial Digital Flexor Tendon injury and was pin and bar fired
Now has injured tendon again - scanned in July which showed - core lesion involving the lateral lobe of the SDFT in the lower third of the cannon region.
Ultrasound on Friday showed - core lesion to be healing relatively well with little demarcation from the surrounding tendon. The fibre pattern in this area and in the palmar part of the tendon more generally was only moderate however.
Have been advised further 3-4 months paddock rest and then gentle return to work over further 3-4 months. Should be able to do lesuire activities and occasional hunting.
Thoughts on this? (need some feedback please - no one who understands this in this house!)
Do you think this is realistic
Also would you take on this horse as a loan
Sorry for the long one and hot choccy with ickle marshmallows for getting this far
