Hi, I've just bought a new pair of Tekna tendon & fetlock boots. The fetlock boots have a weird lump on the inside near the top, it feels like hard fabric, but does anyone know what it's for?

I tried to do a bit of research and all that came up was the name pinch boots and that they make the horse kick out behind over a jump. My horse is very careful in front, but he doesn't let go behind very well, so I'm thinking these could be useful.. however I don't understand how they work and if they're going to cause my horse pain when jumping then they're not going anywhere near him! Does anyone know how they actually work?
Thank you if anyone replies!

These 'pinch' boots you describe sound like they must work by causing discomfort in order to make them kick out behind. Tekna boots wouldnt do that unless something on the packaging suggested otherwise. I'm guessing its to keep the boot in place.

Ah that would make a lot of sense! Obviously having a blonde moment, I was wondering how they would stay in place!
Thanks everyone.
