Does anyone know if Pink Powder is good as a general vit & min supplement? I have a Sec D who can get a bit porky so he doesn't have much hard feed - handful of nuts and 1/2 scoop chaff twice a day but I am giving him a general supplement to make sure he gets all his vits and mins.

I've heard really good things about Pink Powder but also that it can help horses gain condition - which isn't really what I want as like I said he's a very good doer anyway.

Thanks for reading, and thoughts or advice gratefully received!

i do, my boy is not a particulatly good doer other than on spring grass! & in the few months after i got him had a few colicy episodes, i definately think pink powder helps maintain his condition better than anything else we tried & not had any colicy episodes since started using it

Pink Powder is not a vit/min supplement. It is a pre / pro biotic. It is good for settling the gut flora and thus helping absorbtion of nutrients from the feed. So yes it will help gain condition as the gut will function better

If you need a supplement, Top Spec do a good range. I have not really used any other supplements as I have always found them to be good all round from my 26yr old to my 3 yr old.

Pink Powder is a vit min sup plus pre and probiotics plus amino acids etc. Just look at the label and you will see its PACKED with vits , mins and gut balancers.

However it will tend to put weight on horses, so Lucyfers recommedation of NAF General purpose supplement is a good idea for your horse and good for all good doer native types that are on a restricted diet

I use Feedmarks Benevit. It contains all the minerals and vitamins they supposedly need at this time of the year. Like you, mine doesn't get a lot of hard feed, only ad lib haylage. It is very cost effective and Barney looks and goes really well on it.
