Is it any good? Hear lots of references to it but not sure how beneficial it would be in a horse that already has a balanced diet but is underweight. Would it be fed in conjunction with a feed balancer such as TopSpec Comprehensive? Or better off fed with just the concentrates/chaff with maybe added biotin for feet?

What are your experiencs of Pink Powder? Do you just use it as a pick me up or feed it all year round?

All views and info much appreciated, thank you

i am a blue chip plus oil person for weight gain, and very ad lib hay/haylage plus normal feeds alph. sugar beet mix or nuts!! (assumming well wormed and teeth done properly_) if still underweight bloods! and increase the calories!! pink powders might help if stressy sort ... pre/pro biotics! ? ulcers?

i used pink powder on my TB that i rescued with a stab wound and was looking like he was 1/2 dead. He had no life left in him so nursed him back to health and i do 100% think that pink powder helped him bring back some of his condition and possibly abit of weight gain.

Pink Powder is a type of balancer so you don't want to feed it alongside Blue Chip, Top Spec etc. The main effect Pink Powder is meant to have on condition is improving the gut bacteria, making the horse able to make the most of the feed it is given. If your horse's gut bacteria are in tip top condition to start with, you may not see much improvement in condition feeding Pink Powder - however, if his gut bacteria have been disrupted by stress, ill-health, antibiotic treatment etc., then you might find it will help him put on weight.

Didn't do anything for Mr K

I always feed it through winter and I must admit it you can see a difference, save money on ramming expensive hard feed and all this weight gain feed down there necks, both mine are on a fibre only diet and they thrive on it, its true what they say, healthy gut = healthy horse.

Equivite Body Builder, Baileys Outshine or good old fashioned boiled barley are really good for weightgain, all of these I have found to work as good weight gain feeds alongside your normal horse feed.

I 2nd TGM..I considered Pink Powder but was advised by my vet to try Equilibre as this has similar probiotic properties. I have a TB who I want to keep weight on and swaped my Blue chip for the equilibre and feed it with Alfa A and quick beet..a bit pricey but well worth it. My mare looks fab weight and condition wise and is more settled.xx
