Interesting replies guys, especially ROG's one which is what I was trying to get at in my original post. I mostly hack out mid- late morning, never in the dark or low light so I wasn't really getting at which one was more visible but just that the non horsey public just seem more taken with the pink as opposed to the bog standard yellow (or orange one).
People just seem more smiley and obliging when we are decked out in pink so just wondered if even if they are driving in a crappy mood and would have ordinarily sped past to take out their rubbish day on an unsuspecting rider in the bog standard yellow, that the pink horse catches them off guard and makes them laugh? It certainly seems that way when I see the grins on their faces as cars pass by. Enfys nailed it on the head with "pink is a happy color" so although it may be not as visible as the other hi-viz colors, maybe it calms people down so that they drive safer??
That is thought just struck me the other day when hacking out. LOL, riding tends to clear my mind and then I get random thoughts such as this
