It made me cringe everytime I watched it I could just imagine the poor little bugger howling away 'cause she was hurting his ears!!

No idea, she had a beautiful voice.
I just felt for the dog, his poor ears!

I always think the same with these "singing" dogs, generally it is because the dog doesn't like the sound. When my son was younger he had a harmonica and when he played it Buffy used to howl, at first we thought it was funny, but then I saw the worried look in her eyes and realised she hated it, and he wasn't allowed to play it when she was in hearing.
