Pipe dreams... What are yours?

Just for my horse to stay sound during his retirement so we can continue going for long hacks in the lovely countryside. This probably sounds very boring to most by this horse has worked so hard for me over the years and would just love to see him be relaxed, healthy and happy during his final years.

I want to be well enough to get my ID mare back out at BD and build myself up and be consistently well enough so I can get a younger horse with the hope of getting to med/AM which is where the ID should be if I hadn't been so ill for the last 5 years.

I thought I was heading in the right direction at the end of Nov when I had nerve blocks in my ribs to help with the pain from breathing. That worked better than expected only for me to be laid up since the start of Dec with crippling migraines almost constantly. I'm still optimistic that this is a temporary blip and that I'll be able to get back to the bigger issue of strengthening my knackered lungs. I'm aiming for 3-4 months of regular (6 times a week) riding before I start thinking about a new horse. Seeing it written down makes it seem so impossible but hoping it won't just be a pipe dream. Mind you at this stage any riding would be a bonus :0)

Good luck to everyone else, dreams are what keep us going through the tough times and with horses there is always plenty of opportunity to dream.

Ok, you will all deffo laugh at this one ;)

My dream for my life is for my business to take off so that I can get my own house and keep my horses at home complete with manege and horsewalker! Lol. And to take my mare as far as we can go in showjumping, which would be incredible as I can barely do a 2ft x pole without wetting myself!
But its on my vision board..dream, believe achieve and all that xx

To get back up to county standard showing and do some BE 80/90cm comps. I'd also like to compete at GYS in a couple of years - not sure in what class/es though!

My ultimate horse dream (and no 1 on my bucket list) is to put on my brave pants and take the boy hunting.

Even if we get out to a pre season ride, I would be thrilled, but out with the hounds, my word that would absolutely make my dream.

I have the horse, solid ID with a leg in each corner, perfect jumper, its my confidence that is holding us back.

I will get there, I will get there.

Fantastic thread, lovely to read peoples dreams and aspirations.

We've just started learning to play horseball & with the hope we can join the novice team :D

To be able to jump 75cm and for me to be confident - getting there but need to do more of it!!

Dressage - to be able to successfully & calmly do a prelim.

My girl can be difficult & a hot head so for her I keep her cool throughout is my real dream!

I'm not laughing either, good luck with it! My dream this year is to get cantering my boy, he is rising 5 and I've only cantered him once:( last year get had choke twice (tubed for it) and lame for a few months:( so it ruined our summer. I would dearly love to go to a fun ride with him!

I want to ride the long distance bridleways of England and Wales, the Three Rivers Ride, the TransCambrian and the Ridgeway for starters. Finding a riding partner is the tricky part, anyone game?

my dream is to do TREC with my cob !!
im not laughing thats for sure ! its a great dream xx

Go for it, it's great fun, the best thing I ever took up with my horse!

I think my dream at the moment is to get placed in a Trec competitition, surely it's the law of averages, if I enter enough I'm sure to get placed one day!!

Crazy, delusional dream, The Tevis, it looks absolutely epic.

Maybe-realistic dream, just to keep my horse right and do some more low level endurance. :)

To be able to mount gracefully from the ground... I can do it, at least on a horse around 15.2hh or less, if I have no other choice, but I am paranoid about my saddle slipping (and it's never graceful). I prefer to mount from a block/step/tree stump etc. for the sake of the horse anyway, but I'd like to be confident that I can do it easily when needed.

Other dream is to ride in at least 30 different countries. I should be on 15 by the end of the year!

To get round Badminton on my 4yo. Obv when she's older lol.

Ok very crazy and delusional but she is a top class horse with scope to burn, amazing paces and a very very very good attitude and brain.

The obvious problem is unfortunately me...
