Piriton - Once a Day or Twice ?

Horse saw vet yesterday who said to give her 10 piriton a day to try to aleviate her allergy problems, we have no idea yet what the allergy is but think it is something pollen/spring related, anyhow I been and got the Piriton but forgot to ask if I give all 10 tablets in one feed or split them between 2 - can anybody tell me please? thankyou.

All 10 tablets in a single dose, mixed with feed. Hope it works for her - it certainly helped one of mine.

Is the "allergy" sweet itch or something to do with breathing or whatever?

Gosh, ten Piritons at one dose sounds a lot; won't it make her dopey?

I'd be interested to know if it works tho'! Good luck.

She gets swollen puffy eyes and loses the pigmentation around her eyes and muzzle, its very strange as she is black around eyes and muzzle but it literally fades out to light brown when she is having a "flare up" then goes back jet black when shes not. If it makes her dopey that wont be a bad thing, she's like a coiled spring most of the time lol

dont worry 10 pirition is nothing - mine got 25 a day in summer when had really nasty bites. And 50 a day when we got attacked by a hornets nest and she had 40 hornet stings all over her. she was still standing!!!!

Yep she will be fine - mine's just come off a 10 day course of 50 tabs a day (25 each end of the day) and it'scompletely cleared up her skin, which was covered in lumps for whatever reason.

She is only 14hh too!
